I’m buying a new PC for my grandson, he’s 17. He plays a lot of COD 6, Ark, GTA. He asked some people he plays with, and they suggested NZXT, which I don’t think I care for. I don’t know a lot about computers, particularly gaming ones, however, I think I could get better bang for my buck. Budget is, keep it under 3k, don’t want to have to upgrade to soon, but his current one is over 2 years old and won’t run these games. This is the build he is looking at.

It is from NZXT

Do you know what brand it is? I am assuming you are copying that off a website so a link might help.

9800x3d would be best choice of the two
Unlikely to need 64gb of ram for a while
One 2 tb nvme is bare minimum, I would think about 2 of them.
NZXT

I think she is after suggestions for prebuilts because she’s not convinced that NZXT are good bang for buck. But I’m assuming she lives in USA so I can’t really help as I don’t know good sites to suggest.

There isn't any good prebuilt sites in the US tmk. Corsair has prebuilts that you can build online but they're a hose job price wise. Better off buying the components online and having someone such as a PC / laptop repair shop build it for you after you receive the components.

I asked about PSU, if its from NZXT then it could be good (since that is who made mine).

I wouldn't buy off Corsair for a pre built as evidence shows they have no idea how to cool the PC they make, which is ironic given what parts they make. And yes, they charge too much.

Getting someone else to make it for you is the best idea if you can't do it yourself.

That is correct, I think it’s pretty expensive. Would like to know if anyone knows of any other sites that I can build one, that is more reasonable.

The best thing to do is order the components and call around to local PC / laptop service repair shops and have them build it for you. A lot of them make house calls. This way you get quality components without breaking the bank.

I had a look at some US sites and they were either overpriced or didn't specify the components, leading me to believe they were probably substandard.
Motherboard-Model B650 Form Factor ATX Wi-Fi
The sites that don't even specify which motherboard you are using are the ones I wouldn't recommend, as they go with the cheapest available, not the best choices. If they don't say exactly what is inside PC, I stop looking... the listing is my starting point to check parts are good enough. If you don't tell me details, I won't keep looking.
Sites with pre built PC are no better in Australia, probably worse considering what they sell as "new" here.
No way is a 3050 a game ready GPU - https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-rtx-3050-6-gb.c4188 - even if it was released last year (why????)
I have seen computers on sale here in recent years that were slow 10 years ago. WE get slow things here and are expected to be happy with them.

I can't offer any help finding a store in USA to buy from as I am not there :)

You could watch the better reviews of system makers on this playlist but from what I have learned watching these, companies that make good PC once may not repeat it next time, but those that make bad ones all the time are consistent.
No, its not a German site, the forum software is just confused sometimes. Pretty sure Steve hasn't moved... maybe to escape Nvidia?

Just from what I have learned from reading, for the amd ryzen 9800, he should have an 850 gpu , and an 850 power source. He wants an nvidia graphics card.
