Perhaps the XP servers is a symptom that the grind is too high or excessive enough that it needs adjusting? if it wasn't, these servers wouldn't exist. yes i understand the need to have some longevity, but if its grindy and blocks progression or ease of play that could be a problem. If i have to use a gun to grind to unlock attachments to make it better or have flexibility i would be a bit pissed off. or worse i have to play a certain class to unlock specific gear that would annoy me more.

But i can't judge, i don't have BF6 so no idea how awful/good it is. it could be P2W levels of BS or it could be a (reasonable) grind for ingame currency.

BF has always had some grind, at least from BF3 onwards, and with that there have generally always been some XP farming servers. I don't have BF6 either so I can't speak for that game, but BF typically does a good amount of grind if you want to 100% all unlocks. Typically you'll find a loadout and attachments you like to use before reaching 100% of that guns or classes progression. One thing that does kind of suck with BF games is when you get a new gun that you want to use, typically all you have are iron sights, which was always much harder to get kills with than using a scope to me. These XP farm servers are just for people who don't want to grind themselves, not necessarily because the game has too much grind, though I have heard reports on that with BF6.

Trying to figure out how to use this bit of news to my advantage. The game comes out right around my birthday and my wife and sister both love Lana Del Rey. How can I convince them to buy it for me as a birthday gift? "Lana Del Rey has a song on this game, if you buy it for me I'll send you a digital copy of the soundtrack! What? No, it's only one song, not an entire album... Hello?"

My pc is still ok for everything i need and there's nothing screaming that demands i replace it now, but seeing news like this sometimes makes me antsy as i sit on the fence whether to build a new gaming pc or whether to just wait as its just a fact of life that tech prices are increasing. i have a wishlist and its going to be around £2500 (just like my old pc).

I know what I just posted about MS above but...

I hope that previous owners will get this free or at the very least get a big discount. I've been wanting to jump back into FO4 recently. I get the general consensus around the Creation Club content but I've never had issues with them. They are basically just slightly above average quality mods with official Bethesda support, and with that comes the peace of mind knowing it just works. Thankfully I've never spent a dollar on those credits, they typically have a rotating selection of free items and last years update came with 1000 free credits to spend. I've gotten a good amount of cosmetics and other items free including a sword and shield set and some dog companions.
