Well, that's Resident evil: code veronica x finished and that should be the last game for halloween (excluding the halloween doom 2 wad). Tomorrow we'll start my yearly tradition of Yakuza with Y5!

i'm sitting on the fence concerning POE league. Just like last time i have a stronger feeling that this is going to be a tough league for me as the end game content has just gotten tougher and i suspect some of the end game challenges will be in the challenges (like defeat all the bosses to unlock the blood ascension). but this league is a serious rework of the popular breach mechanic so we might expect some awesome things to happen. But as expected, people are lamenting the nerfs. Case in point my Volcanic fissure of snaking build is taking a hit. I might try a juggernaut slam build, but i suspect this league emphasizes killing a lot of things quickly so a magic user is probably preferred. Assassin perhaps now that its been reworked for a crit build?

Still thinking about building a pc, but i've spent so much money this year (buying a top end coat and treking shoes etc) its not easy to justify. perhaps black friday i might get decent deals? The shocking thing is how big PC cases are now.

I've reached tier 4 of the quickhacks in Cyberpunk 2077, I just need to get a bit more money to get the truly powerful ones. I now primarily use quickhacks, especially the contagion one, to deal with groups of enemies.

One of the side missions had a reference to GLaDOS which was pretty fun.

Oh! I thought it would have cost a lot more than that! Or is that just the original cost?

I think that was just the original cost, but that was over 3 years of production. So the $300 million+ they've made since then should be enough to keep them working on the game for the rest of their lives.

I just noticed that my friend we're sharing our Steam game library with owns No Man's Sky, so I could give it another try.

I finished Costume Quest this evening after dinner. Ended up putting in 5 hours to the original game and I'll probably just skip the DLC, as it's more of the same.

Why this game has been on my must play list for over a decade, I don't know. It's alright. It's cute, got a good sense of humor and is overall fine in the gameplay department and I'm happy I played it this close to Halloween, it kind of got me in the mood for the season.

But I definitely can't say that I'm ready for more with the DLC or the second game.

yeah Costume quest has great visual and makes it quite an endearing game, but mechanically its a bit simple. I believe i called it "my first jrpg" as i found it relatively easy. I finished the DLC and honestly i can't remember much of that at all. Like you, i couldn't stomach a second serving in the form of the sequel so i played that the following year.

Yeah, it seems like between the DLC and just looking at 2, nothing really changes. It has its charms for sure, but I think I'm happy enough with what I got that I don't need to play anymore.

I got a chance to play No Mans Sky, played for 61 minutes according to Steam and it's...fine? I'm not sure what I anticipated, but it's pretty much why I remember I wasn't terribly interested in the game to begin with, namely being it seems to be mostly navigating menus and dragging and dropping icons for items, which I find kind of dull. The first world I started on was pretty uninteresting and now I've landed on another after repairing my ship. Haven't looked around at all yet, since I quit right after that, but it seems like more of the same?

I'll probably continue since I bought it on Gamebillet and can't return it anyway and everyone says it's better, so maybe I just haven't hit anything interesting yet. Couple of points in its favor, however is that it runs fantastic on both my laptop and Deck, so I'm really happy with that.

But I also might just be feeling hyper critical, because I mostly just want to play more Battletech right now...

Played a bit of R.E.P.O. with my friends. I'm still bad at the game, mostly because I have no idea how each monster works. My friends weren't doing much better this time though and we lost on level 3.

Then we went on to continue our Barotrauma game. We discovered the game hadn't saved the last trip we did the last time we played, so we had to kill the abyss creature again. Luckily it was just as easy as the first time and we made it to the end without any issues.

However, we had two more stops without an outpost at the end to go. The next part we encountered our first giant spineling and boy are those things a pain. Spinelings can shoot little spines straight through the hull, which hurt but aren't too bad as long as you can thin out the swarm quick enough. The giant spinelings however shoot massive spikes and ram the ship causing everyone to ragdoll all over the place. Everyone survived, but we started running really low on medicine.

There was a beacon station on this trip, but for some reason it was really glitchy, where we couldn't really interact with most of it. It would just open the UI of whatever you clicked and immediately close it. We had to give up on it, which is a shame because activating the beacon allows the uninhabited spots to be filled by new outposts.

The next trip saw us encountering another giant spineling, which caused us to run out of pain medication entirely. Luckily there was an abandoned outpost at the end of this trip and the cultists inside were no match for the automatic weapons we've made, so we were able to loot some medicine there.

The last trip would finally get us to a regular outpost again, but luck was not on our side. We got pretty banged up again by some big enemies trashing us around, then encountered a pack of tiger threshers who managed to get inside the ship and eat everyone.

Luckily the game did save when we left the abandoned outpost and on the second try I just ran the engines on full power as much as possible and managed to outrun a lot of the enemies, getting us to the outpost without too much trouble.

However, we discovered this particular outpost isn't selling tier 3 subs. There is in fact only one friendly station selling tier 3 subs nearby and it's only selling transport class subs, so hopefully there's something good there.

This was pretty much my response to No Man's Sky as well. It's fine, but nothing about it grabbed me. I felt like it was just a bunch of shallow systems mashed into one game. I had expected more from it, but maybe it would make for a good game if you're in the mood for something casual.

The space stuff posted earlier in the thread got me kind of excited, because I definitely knew what this was, just kind of forgot.

I played a bit more here and now it's like, "Build a house!" And I had to just quit out. I have zero interest in that. Kind of regretting not spending the extra $4 on Steam so I could return it. Ah well, it was only $20 and this will encourage me to keep trying and see if I can actually get into it.

Defeated Rykard...

He was rough! I got the spear the game gives you specifically to fight him with, but I'm all into incantations, so I assumed it would work really poorly for me. Especially given the pool of lava this guy was sitting on - not great for walking up and poking him! I tried letting my mimic use it while I used lightning and got to phase 2 but couldn't do much beyond that. It's a somber weapon, so I levelled it up a little - still the same result. I switched mimic to Dung Eater, same result. It's just too tough. Even if I could somehow land all my lightning attacks, they wouldn't be enough to kill it. The summon isn't even smart enough to stay out of the lava.

So, I tried the special spear myself and used the thing's special attack. OMG! That thing has as much range as my sniping spell!! Get that mimic back in here and let's do this again!

Still died. But the second time worked out!

Now I've got his (shrunken) sword. Goes great with the octopus helmet.

Still don't think I've won that fight. I got close one time and that was about it and there's never anyone to summon for help, so I went elsewhere until I level up some more and finally decide to play again.

Well, it seems I should have beaten a different boss first. I messed up one of the quests I'm on by beating Rykard. I just looked up what happens later and the reward for the quest is a talisman that gives you -100% damage resistance. Yes, that's a negative, as in 'you take double damage now.' It's useful for people who've gotten tired of other challenges, like playing with one eye tied behind their back. REALLY fun game, but the quests....

Had a very busy weekend but was able to squeeze in some games. First was Shadows of Doubt. I picked it up on sale after wanting it for so long and... I ended up refunding it. Not exactly what I was hoping for or wanted. I played just under 2 hours and made my decision. I really like the immersive sim aspects of it, but the performance and detective gameplay just wasn't what I was wanting at the moment. I may give it a shot again in the future but for now, I moved onto Skin Deep.

I'm getting close to finishing Skin Deep. I've got maybe 4-5 more missions left. I have the agree with the PC Gamer review of this game, there just isn't a very memorable standout level that sticks with you. Each level is great and I'm loving every moment of the game, but each level is somewhat similar with some small new gimmick and different layouts. This is not a bad thing at all though, just something that sticks out against the rest of the greatness this game has to offer. I'm hoping my mind changes on that by the end of the game.

Still the moment to moment gameplay is enough to make this game amazing. I still try to be stealthy but that never ends up how I planned. This last mission I did, I accidentally stood on the trash can as I was disposing of a pirates head (you have to destroy their head-in-a-jar to completely eliminate them), it sucked me into outer space and made me very stinky. I entered back into the ship through another vent, but my stink gave away my position and had enemies scattering around the ship trying to find me. One way to make yourself clean is by walking through a cloud of gas made from soap or hand sanitizer or by rubbing an aloe vera plant on yourself.

Once I finish Skin Deep I'll be looking for something else to play. I could try to finish my Deus Ex replay but I've beaten that game countless times, maybe I should play something fresh. BallXPit is still fun but I'm not sure how far I'll really go with it. It's more my game to play in between playing other games, not my main focus right now.

Currently playing in some fashion:

Dead Island 2
Ninja Gaiden 4
BallxPit
Diablo 4
Helldivers 2
Once Upon A Katamari
Outerworlds 2
Battlefield 6
(but not so much this week)
Killing Floor 3
Fatal Fury: City of Wolves

Good amount of different games to play with for me currently.

I will 100% be sinking my time later this week into Arc Raiders when it releases.

In other gaming news, i made Twitch Affiliate!! Certainly a milestone for me, i even have 3 subs lol so with that im going to be streaming more and will be doing so for Arc Raiders release this weekend. Just gotta get through the day job that i cant quit yet.

I think they assume anyone actually following the quest lines to the end has to be a real sicko :p

Congrats! Whats your channel? I'll give you a follow if it helps.

My short diary fo stuff Ive been playing goes something like this...

Daily Ive mostly been playing Hades. Im bad at games so Ive still yet to finish a run, but its fun cycling through the different weapons and trying to get all the boons and fated wotsits to decorate hell to my taste.

Occasionally trying to finish off Bloodstained still, up to 93% exploration and I think Im coming up to the last boss. Its a really good side scrolling exploration/platform game, recommend it if thats your sort of thing and you didnt already.

Still playing Baby Steps, I cant get the damn football in the goal. The control system is really engaging moment to moment and the comedy is still really hitting for me. The cut scenes apparently were all all improvised, and are pretty random I guess because of that.

About once a week I get a bit of time to play more Hell Is Us, its a bit scary for the little one and a bit intense to play late at night. Will have more time soon, and want to see this one to the end because its got something about it Ive liked a lot, and Id like to see where the story ends.

Dead Island 2
Just downloaded this on Epic the other day, have been thinking of replaying it. I beat it on Game Pass via Cloud Streaming when it first came to GP last year, it was laggy but for some reason I really liked the game so I stuck with it. Haven't played much on PC yet, thinking about starting it soon.

Congrats on making the affiliate program!!

I do actually need to get back to that. I last played in Early Access like two years ago or something and absolutely loved it, but I just haven't been back to it yet. Perhaps I should make it my next game...

So what does that mean? You'll be getting paid to stream now? That's a career I should get into, if I had any personality...

I'm still hooked on Battletech over here. Did a "quick" mission today, which took me about 40 minutes. But I'm sort-of stuck in this loop right now, where I'm making decent money, but I'm mostly fighting 20-30-ton mechs, so I'm not getting a ton of useful salvage for me and the missions are pretty easy, especially considering I have two 55-ton mechs and a smattering of 40-ton and lower. But, if I take on harder missions with more salvage or payout, I start encountering stuff that's significantly harder; the last mission I took on that had an excellent salvage ratio saw me facing 6+ 60-tonners and 4 or so 20-30-ton mechs, which is just way more than I could possibly deal with.

That said, I did just recently buy a little tank that has an LRM60, which is just tearing things apart, even when there's only about at 30% chance to hit. So with any luck, I can start taking on some harder stuff soon, especially if I play it smart.

Performance issues aside which is understandable since everything is procgen, I just wasn't feeling the detective work very much. It's very in-depth so for fans of detective games it's great, but I was hoping for a bit more stealthing around, ala Deus Ex. I'll probably give it another shot another time.

I've been playing Cyberpunk 2077 still, but there isn't really much to say about it. I now have a quickhack that prevents me from being tracked entirely, so I can just kill entire camps of enemies while sitting around a corner, assuming I don't screw up and get spotted.

Congratulations! The idea of playing games for money sounds nice, but the idea of being entertaining to a large audience for money sounds horrendous to me.

Still making my way through Skin Deep, according to achievements I only have three missions left. This will be the first game I've beaten all year I believe. I wish there was a way to see every game I've played this year instead of only seeing the past month's worth of games and not having to wait until the year end Replay.

Anyways, at the end of the last mission when the ship was boarded by about 5 very tough pirates, I threw two cans of air freshener at them then threw a TNT at the gas clouds the air fresheners produced, which just so happened to be by a large gas pipe, causing a massive explosion that instantly killed all five pirates. Screw being stealthy when I can do that instead!

? Cant you just sort Steam library by last played?
Maybe on the Steam app, I haven't tried it yet, I'm at work lol. Looking on the Steam website there isn't a way to do it. On your profile if you go to Recently Played, it only shows a list of the previous month, but also with that it's in a random order. What I want is a constant list of every game I've launched on Steam this year, sorted by last played.

@neogunhero I don't think you can do it through the Steam Website, but through the Steam App you can make your own dynamic collection, choose all the games you own and then sort by last played. Then you will find recent games played this year and earlier. I did not find any option to include games that were uninstalled before making the list, but there could also be an option for that, or perhaps it is just the month you make the list in which those uninstalled games are not included.
