I need a little help with my 'new' PC build. Iv got all new parts to build new PC except for my GPU and 2 nvme drives (1 boot drive / 1 storage drive) as ill reuse them in the new PC.

My issue is: I want to use my current boot drive as the boot drive on the new system, but i want to wipe it clean to perform a new install of windows 11 for the new PC as if it were a fresh new drive.

I just cant figure out out how to able to do this! I'm going to sell all the old parts from my old PC parts (Motherboard/CPU/PSU/ too so i need to leave the PC in a state which allows me to sell the parts individually :)
Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

You need to install Windows 11 on a USB stick, then once your new PC is assembled, there will be an option to wipe the drive when you install Windows 11 off the stick.

At least, that's how it used to work. I haven't had to install for a few years.

This post should explain the steps needed to clean install windows 11

I would only have the nvme you want windows installed on in the PC when you install as windows has been known to put other parts of itself on other drives, this will stop it.

if you have any problems, just ask...

How old is PSU? I don't know if I feel right selling an old PSU that could just go bang at any time.

Ahh awesome thank you so much!!!
So i would need to install windows 11 on a usb stick. Then take the old nvme boot drive out my current PC with windows 11 already on and put it in the new system, and once i boot the new PC with the usb stick installed it will give me the option to wipe the old nvme and install a fresh version Windows 11 from the usb stick? :)

ahh thank you :) I will only have the boot drive in then when i set up the new PC!!! the power supply is a Corsair CX650, 650 80 plus Bronze that i brought brand new December 2022. Do you think its okay if i specify in the eBay listing that the PSU has been used for nearly 3 years quite heavily for gaming? :)
