Its an OK PSU, it depends what you pay for it and what else is available for the same. Possible we could get into the weeds and maybe get something better, buts its fine.

80 + and Cybenetics ratings are about efficiency, not quality. So a Gold rated PSU will need to draw 1000 watts to deliver 870W to the system at certain load levels.

The Gigabyte exploding PSU's from last year or so were rated Gold. The Seasonic PSU's that caused shutdowns when used with some 3000 series Nvidia were Titanium rated.

P-OH-P-OH-P-OH! Hends-app!

I read Thermaltake + SMART in the same line, that's when I say invest more money into your PSU as it's considered to be the heart of the system. Something like a Corsair RM series would be fitting. There are other brands and models but you should look into a reliably built unit.

Its reliably built by CWT who make a lot of Corsairs PSU's, with a 5 year warranty which aint nothing and an in depth review from the best reviewer around these days stating its pretty good.

It aint top tier though by any means, and I can get behind spending a bit more on a better quality unit.

That build will do you really well, as long as you don't have unreasonable expectations. You're not going to be playing most new games at 4K with ray tracing turned on. But as long as you know the capabilities, I think you'll be pleased with it.

You tryna get us raided?

Is he ok with a bronze PSU? Wouldn't gold from same brand be better?
Personally, I would go with a gold PSU for myself. But I used a bronze PSU in one of my sons' builds, and it has been going strong for a pretty long time. If you're looking for ways to shave dollars off, I probably wouldn't be afraid to use a bronze. I definitely wouldn't go with less than that, though.

Aiming for 1080p gaming, settings as high as I can get them

I looked up some benchmarks, and that 6700XT is way better than I thought it was. It trades blows with the RTX 3070 in rasterization. It doesn't hold up quite as well sometimes in ray tracing, but then other times it does pretty well with it. It looks like it's going to be an absolute beast at 1080p, and you probably could pull off some 4k gaming with RT turned off.

So yeah, you'll probably enjoy that more than I thought at first.

I originally was going to go with a 6600XT or a 3050 but when comparing the cost to performance at the time I decided to go AMD after that I said screw it and stepped up a level to the 6700XT
