So I'm finally on the market looking for a new high end gaming laptop but I'm so undecided on which of these 2 to get. They are both in my price range and have the specifications I am looking for RTX 470, Intel i9, 16-17 inch display and a display better than normal 1080p.

My reason for a gaming laptop and not a desktop is because of portability, I can use it on the move.

Specs for this one as it's custom built include:

Chassis & Display:
Recoil Series: 17" Matte QHD 240Hz sRGB 100% LED

Processor:
Intel® Core™ i9 24 Core Processor 13900HX (5.4GHz Turbo)

Memory (RAM):
32GB PCS PRO SODIMM DDR5 4800MHz (2 x 16GB)

G Card:
NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX 4070 - 8.0GB GDDR6 Video RAM - DirectX® 12.1

SSD 1:
256GB PCS PCIe M.2 SSD (3200 MB/R, 2700 MB/W)

SSD 2:
1TB SOLIDIGM P41+ GEN 4 M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 4125MB/sR, 2950MB/sW)

I've never brought from PC specialists so any information on them would be much appreciated and I also like the idea of adding the laptop water cooling tower to it as well.

And the second laptop I was considering is from good old Currys.

Any help would be much appreciated please. Also if anyone has any other laptop recommendations then please add them.

God bless 🙌.

Personally, I'd recommend the custom builder over the Asus, which is more of a budget type build quality.

Do you know what the TGP is on these two machines? That will tell you a lot about which one will run faster. You really need to know that number before you buy a gaming laptop.

Thank you for all your help I really appreciate it.

I've had a look at the ASUS and it's saying that is TGP OF 140W. And I believe I have found the custom 17" RECOIL laptop TGP

Graphics TDP (Thermal Design Power)RTX 4090: 150W (Dynamic Boost 25W), RTX 4080: 150W (Dynamic Boost 25W), RTX 4070|4060: 115W (Dynamic Boost 25W)

Thanks guys and girls 🙌

If Dynamic Boost gives an extra 25W then those numbers are excellent. Might check some reviews and make sure those laptops are able to handle the extra heat generated.

Yeah that's what I thought and the laptop and what cooled as well so you can buy a The PCS Liquid Series® Laptop Cooler with it which is pretty amazing to be honest and from what I've read is that helps with the extra heat and performance
