Question M.2 extension cable

I would like to use M.2 extension cable in order to use caddy for the M.2 drive. Do you know from the experience if this cable is going significantly impact performance of the drive? If yes, how much and does it depend on the length?

Appears they run at 32gbps max, so it would depend what type of m.2 you were using. PCIe3 max is 3.5gb/s so its already slower than it... PCIe4 & 5 are faster again.

Thank you. I have also found PCIe caddy for 1 or 2 M.2s, might see how does it compare.
