they like their pretty websites
but it doesn't really tell you anything

They make extenders but I assume isp doesn't hand those out.

its wifi 6 meaning it should be fast enough. so its not going to be a bottleneck. Think its range is 45 metres

Its likely some of the parts might have slower adapters inside them though. Wifi 6 is fairly new, came out 2021. Its going to have all the latest error correction features.
Believe it or not (And this is something you will not hear me say often about suppliers), Rain still cares about their customers. Been with them for about 6 or 7 years now and have no complaints about them. Once had a router that died on me during a power spike, Guy came (about 3 weeks later), gave me a new one, took the old one and they refunded me for charging me internet services the time I was down without a router. Pretty website, yeah, one of the few that still try.

Closest 5G to me is about 50Km away. Doubt it will work, and it is not even in line of sight. I am in a valley so uphill to anywhere from here. Great for cycling, bad for any form of signals.

Much of Australia only has 5g as well, no idea what their connection speeds are. I happen to live in the capital city so our internet is close to best we can get in country.

The ISP we were with was bought by another in the last 5 years and when we had to contact them last, they were amazed to find out how long we been with them... easily 20 years.
We been with them so long that we can't logon to our account with them as it doesn't have a phone number to send the code to for 2 step authentication... need to fix that but we wait for the next problem to occur before we do. We will need to call them and that is slowest part of process, talking to them and getting a solution.

Last time we arranged to get a new router as ours was really old, its not wifi 6 though. My PC always seems to have better wifi than my router can do. But I use an RJ45 cable to connect to my router, had it run through walls 20 years ago when we first got the connection set up.

Advantages of being in the BIG city, right? I moved out here many years ago to get away from everything was the original plan. Ended up working with Schools and Choirs, waiting rooms, hospitals and recently Movies. Have never done a game. I pretty much just had enough of the industry that time but kept the Equipment simply because I was not just going to give it away.

Yeah, that is a long time. Should actually tell them to give you a certificate (long standing client). Will do wonders for their PR if they do it right.

I tried RJ45 from PC to router. I am thinking (Not sure) the cable interferes with the 4G signal I am receiving. Soon as I plug in the cable the signal indicator starts behaving erratically. Obvious when I got it, I was warned there is no 5G in my area, but they agreed after I said I will not ask them for technical support. 5G would be great, but the 4G is doing what I need it to do plus if I go somewhere I just drop it in my bag and plug it in wherever and work with it there.

Off- topic (Not as if anything was much on topic) read about how the game expedition 33 started. Right time right place, I guess. Anyone want to create a game; I will do the music arrangements and recordings for you. LMAO. Would be nice having something like that in my portfolio.
