A friend put a build together for me on pc part picker. When I was ready to buy the power supply. It said it was compatible. I clicked on it, and it brought me to amazon, and I chose the first option. All the options showed different wattage. Does it matter what one I ordered? Do you think they are all compatible, or should I have done more research. I'm afraid that I spent almost $600 on the wrong one. I'm sorry I'm not explaining this well. Im not very experienced when it comes to computers.

I can't comment on if its a waste of money without knowing rest of system. The PC will only use the power it needs, so having more than you need isn't a waste of power as such.

well, the corsair calculator only recommends a 650watt for that but also shows an 850. Having more than you need gives space for possible future upgrades

No, not really. The system will only draw what it needs, not the max all the time.
