How to grow a garden (or fight zombies) in your yard without ever leaving the house...

Thanks to OpenStreetMap and some tools like RealMap that can use the data to quickly generate realistic game maps, I've seen a few games come out lately that allow you to experience the game on a map of anywhere in the world.

Being able to play in a local map was one of the early draws for me years and years ago with the Flight Simulator games. I haven't played any of these new games yet, but it seems interesting and like it could add extra incentive, for instance, in the zombie game to have a representation of your actual house attacked.

Just want to see what other people think of this tech and whether they've played any games that use it.

I've never played a game that had anything like this. It seems like a fun gimmick, but not something I really care about.

Hah, I thought this thread was going to be about the original Plants v Zombies 😀

Haven't seen anything like this beyond FS. Agree on the fun gimmick, it was cool with Far Cry in Nepal and Montana and Cuba. I might be more tempted once I can paste a few neighbors' faces onto the zombies!
