Being able to play in a local map was one of the early draws for me years and years ago with the Flight Simulator games. I haven't played any of these new games yet, but it seems interesting and like it could add extra incentive, for instance, in the zombie game to have a representation of your actual house attacked.

Infection Free Zone on Steam
Choose any real region from the world. Choose your base of operations, then rebuild and readapt the buildings around you to create a self-sustaining settlement. Take charge of a group of survivors from your city. And when the night falls - Defend the zone from the infected!

Global Farmer on Steam
Farm the world in an immersive top-down management game that lets you choose your farm's location anywhere on the real-world map! Want to experience a rich strawberry harvest in the French countryside? Or challenge the hot sun in South America? The choice is yours!
