Hi, I need to enable IOMMU on the Gigabyte Z690 GAMING X DDR5 motherboard. This option is necessary to run the Faceit anti-cheat software. Could you please explain where this option is located, because the videos on yt are not helpful, thx.

An Input–Output Memory Management Unit (IOMMU) is a hardware component that connects a direct-memory-access (DMA)–capable I/O bus to the main memory, acting as a bridge between peripheral devices and system memory

have you got the latest bios? Seems they fixed something to do with IOMMU

your bios manual - https://download.gigabyte.com/FileL...s_e_v3.pdf?v=e176cfcc0bb7f8b739252e4d3b0b9101
the section you are looking for is called VT-D. You can find it on page 23
  1. Its in the bios/Advanced view/Settings tab
  2. set vt-d to enabled
  3. save and close bios.

the video I saw on it shows how to get to the BIOS, but it was for a lenovo machine, and had a different bios. Steps above are for yours.

if you need help getting into the bios, which version of windows are you using?

In win 11 its settings/system/recovery
under recovery, choose Advanced Startup and click restart now
windows will start in a blue menu
  1. pick troubleshoot
  2. pick advanced
  3. pick UEFI firmware interface, and choose restart
PC will restart again and load you into BIOS.
