How important is a game's music to you?

Do you ever, after playing a game for a long time (whether hours, or days, or weeks), hear a certain soundtrack in your mind over and over and over; maybe when lying in bed, or at work, or wherever? Sometimes I'll wake up in the morning and have a particular soundtrack playing through my brain. Weird, I know, but it happens.

I take back what I said above in response to this. As I was in bed last night, I had the soundtrack to Car Mechanic Simulator 18 blasting through my head. There's only a handful of songs, and I've played the game about 30 hours, so it's getting to me. Plus, the game is very relaxing. Not a ton of concentration needed, so I hear the music more than I usually do.

Music can make a good game great. When you find yourself hitting a rhythm, nodding your head along with the soundtrack while dropping assets in a builder, or driving your adrenaline while ripping through baddies in an FPS, you know the experience is going to stick with you.

I attribute my love for synthwave music to gaming (namely Hotline Miami). Here's a few tracks I always go back to:
