Today I logged onto play and noticed I had abnormally high ping. It is stable - only fluctuating 2-3ms - but it is still much higher than it is normally at around 100. At first I tried all of the usual things: restarting my router, checking task manager and sorting by network usage, checking if anyone else in the house was using the internet; when this turned up nothing I ran a speedtest that gave me the same results I'd normally get (30-40ms). In a final effort, I checked two separate third-party websites gameserverping and valorantping both of which I believe confirm my suspicions that it is a Valorant issue, not a hardware issue. and also many people on twitter have the same problem.
I have tried everything I can think of:
I have tried everything I can think of:
- Testing each option for the 'Network Buffering' option in game.
- Repairing game files / uninstalling then reinstalling the game.
- Changing DNS config.
- Updating drivers of any and all network devices.
- Restarting Valorant, the PC, the router multiple times.
- Unplugged and replugged the ethernet cable both on the PC side and the router side (into multiple router ports).
