Forgot to post this. But I used an Android build of this tool to create an APK file to install on my Android stuff. You need to legally dump your Mario 64 cartridge that you already own, which you've had in storage for 30 years to get the ROM file, which you definitely shouldn't just download from any number of ROM sites, which are very easily found by just Googling what you want and adding the word "ROM" to the end of the query.

Thank you for everyone that has helped us during this period - the developer preview is now closed!

...We'll be open again on Steam on the 28th April for $20.

...Out of 800,000 people who joined the developer preview, 40,000 get to keep it and the rest have been revoked.

Who got to keep it:

  • Developers who have published games people have played
  • Anyone who has purchased any cosmetics
  • Anyone who has played a good amount and actually opened the game this year

Well, my key hasn't been revoked yet. I played a good couple hours of it this year. I wonder if I'll be able to keep the game. They did say the revocation process takes a little while so maybe I'll get the message later on in the future. Strange how they are doing it, I've never seen this done before.

Took a little break from Crimson Desert, as I have been playing that game for over 187 hours (20 of those hours through idling) since its release on the 19th of March. I have an act boss I am soon going to kill, so will be jumping on the game on Sunday.

I had a visit from one of my nephews, so we did a 14-hour Dark Souls run and I finally finished the game. Today or tomorrow I will finish the DLC and then jump on Dark Souls 3 whenever it gets on sale.

Same as you're well aware lol. Loving the game but need a break, 70 hours on one game in one month is pretty insane for me.

I've been contemplating what to play in between Crimson Desert, then I remembered I have a lot of games that I didn't finish that I'd like to. Games like Skin Deep, Captain Wayne Vacation Desperation and Arco, all bought last year but never fully finished. I bet it would only take a handful of hours to beat them all so maybe I should do that this weekend.

I think part of what I'm liking about Pillars right now (not the sole reason) is the turn based mode really makes it feel like the tactical game I often imagine tabletop D&D to be (Which it ain't). I'm in a dungeon right now and I've got my fighter and rogue blocking a door, fighting some enemies, so the remaining enemies need to run around the other side of the dungeon to even get close to something to attack. Something I always imagine when I'm designing or thinking about encounters in real life, but which never actually happens at the table.

Also interesting is that turn order is fluid. My fighter starts a fight with a big crossbow, but then is essentially out for two turns or so, because of its unwieldy nature. In the meantime, my Rogue gets 3 turns in a round before the fighter comes back around, since he's using light and fast weapons. I like the idea that a more dexterous character doesn't just get moved up in the turn order, but gets to potentially act more frequently
That said, my fighter, when his turn comes back around, can switch to his sword and shield, which will bump him back to acting more frequently.

The writing is also pretty good, which should be obvious given it's an Obsidian game. I kind of thought I was pretty sick of fantasy settings as a whole, but I'm genuinely quite enjoying Pillars of Eternity. I've somehow put almost 9-hours into it since I started playing it like last Thursday. Doesn't sound like much, but it is quite a bit for me.

I finished that game and don't (like I believe you said) remember much. You are making me want to reinstall it.

By the way, you helped me find a solution for using my desktop remotely by suggesting Moonlight. That's great, and I still use it some times, but I suddenly realized I could download the Steam Link software. Nice things about Link are that you can set a PIN in Steam. Also, Moonlight lagged a bit for me (due to the distance of my laptop from my router) if I bumped it up to 1080p. I don't have that problem with Link. I swear I haven't noticed any latency at all.

Weird thing to worry about people cheating in what I imagine is a co-op game. Maybe they intend to add MTX next.

I tend to switch between the two, as far as Moonlight and Steam Link go. Just depends on whichever is performing better at the time, but one thing I really like about Link on my Deck over Moonlight is that it'll keep my controller config.

I play Abiotic Factor natively on my Deck, but sometimes stream it, so it's nice to have my buttons remain the consistent between the two methods, which is a hassle with Moonlight.

Edit: and actually lately I've been pondering if I should get rid of my laptop and just switch back entirely to streaming, since I recently upgraded my WiFi AP and it's about 300 times faster.

Why is Battle.net still a thing? Extra launchers is one thing, but one company requiring two different launchers is a whole other thing.
Guess they just keep it going as its been around for long enough

This looks neat..

I may pick this up for my younger, since he loves to draw and color. Will probably have to hook up an actual mouse vs the touchpad I currently use where he plays though. Wonder if I have one small enough for a 6 year old?

Patiently waiting for Diablo 4's next expac. to drop next week. Blizzard has been dropping lore videos and details about whats to come. Cant wait to jump into it and see only warlocks everywhere.

I started playing Mouse P.I. For Hire. You play a mouse in a cartoon film noir-fps like game. Its got a cool soundtrack and you can have the camera look old-timey along with the soundtrack being either in great stereo sound, or brownwax or vinyl. Its a cool feature.

pretty graphic too and hard i would say. Havent played all that much, but its neat.

Arc Raiders still annoys me. Just crossed 1700 knocks and nearing 300k in raider damage lol.

As i continue to play Path of exile, the end is almost in sight for the 28 challenges. At 22 challenges in the bag, and 23rd one just another map to play, we're on track. but two of the more annoying aspects has been technical.

My first problem? textures and assets of the game are not loading in properly. i often face invisible bosses or enemies. At best its a mild nuisance at worst its a game breaking bug. For bosse especially that can one shot you, not being able to see attacks and just falling over dead is annoying and when precious resources are being invested, it adds insult to injury.

The second problem has been the random disconnects. Whats worse is that i can't connect to my session and throws me into a new one. All those resources you spent? gone. The game is not just delaying progress but also stealing from me.

i suspect my aging rig is the culprit which doesn't bode well. if future leagues is going to be like this, i might as well not bother play the game. i would have probably cut my losses and stopped playing if i hadn't committed so much time to it. Fingers crossed that the challenging boss fight is painless and helps me get the 2 challenges i need. I have 11 attempts banked up...

I had a similar problem with Hearthstone on my phone yesterday. I love the solo mode Tombs of Terror, it's one of the few games I keep coming back to every so often. However, despite being a solo mode, the game is still saved on the Blizzard servers.

So yesterday I was halfway through a boss fight when I put my phone on standby to start dinner. When I wanted to continue later the game got stuck trying to reconnect to my fight, then eventually gave up and just booted me to the main menu and I lost all of my progress.

Luckily I did manage to beat the boss in one go on the second try.

I was going to make a stupid post (I don't know how to do anything else) about iconic game characters "having a better day". It was just going to be small, seamless repeating gifs of things like Gordon Freeman laughing. Theory being that seeing someone laugh or smile makes you feel better, and we have a number of posters, myself included, who struggle with depression or anxiety or both. I started with Gordon Freeman, but I just can't get a video at the quality I want. I'm installing another video maker to try it out.

Something tells me Zed would like this (I have been wrong before)

Thanks! Wishlisted...

The good news today is that the servers are behaving themselves. But that said, i just switched everything to default to see if that helps. Will keep playing and see what happens.

Atm, i've decided to finish off the easier challenges and slowly polishing off the scarab challenge. if the bloody game will let me use the last 17 bloody scarabs that i want i would finish the challenge. i guess we have to take it slow and steady and take the next couple of days to finish.

I've had to ignore most of the content that gets spawned to speed things up. so far done 66/150 maps and thats just me rushing into the map and back out again. once i complete the scarab challenge, i can probably speed it up even further as i don't even need to finish the map to complete the task. A bit wasteful, but i'm doing what matters.

Challenge count stands at 24/28. the 25th end of this week and 26th challenges should be in the bag by the next week. the last 2 will very much depend on what happens when i face off against the boss.

YES! I've been putzing around for a long time, slowly moving my light mechs up to mediums, finally got a heavy mech put together, and then a Clash of the Titans mission showed up. In those missions, you roll your mechs out against (in BTA) three assault class mechs and a heavy mechs. I had two tanks, two high-end light mechs, one heavy, and six medium-sized mechs to fight these mercenaries with. I certainly had the numbers and some altitude, so I might have had a chance to "win," but I probably would have lost at least half my mechs and pilots, making for a financial loss.

But the Clash of the Titans missions aren't about you vs. the monster mechs, it's about you cleaning up after monster mechs fight. I had to survive for a couple of rounds by hiding behind a mountain ridge, but eventually four Davion mechs showed up, also with three assaults and a heavy. They showed up right behind the two of the mercenary's assault mechs. They tried to run, but assault mechs are big on shooting, not running. One was destroyed quickly through the rear armor and the other just got a few shots off before going down. Obviously, I'm going to need to help out the mercenaries if I don't want to end up fighting the Davion mechs myself.

Anyway, the last 40 minutes of the battle can be watched here, if you want:

In the end, I was able to walk away with enough parts to build my own assault-class Longbow! Those 'Clash of the Titans' missions are awesome for moving from the 'starting to get comfortable' stage up to the 'me stomp you good!' stage.

Toxic developer (and player) alert: after hundreds of hours in both Farm Together games and buying all their DLC and talking them up everywhere I could, the developer is being a complete a-hole after I turned in a very valid bug report. He's treating me like a complete idiot, which is very perceptive of him, but this time I know what I'm talking about and I even provided 8 screenshots and an exact description of what is happening. Rather than looking at it, he's being dismissive and demanding more screenshots to prove that I'm not lying. I got news for you, buddy. You've just made an enemy of one of the most loud and vindictive persons you've ever had the misfortune of coming across, and I fully intend to lay waste to your a$$ everywhere your game is discussed.
