6k monitors are just a scam, as the screen needs to be really big to benefit from the resolution and most are not big enough.

I mean so is 8k and that is what 6k is a stepping stone to. Monitor companies have to keep thinking of new reasons for people to buy new monitors. Wonder if we due for 3d again yet

Monitor I want - link - is released here on February 9th, as per Asus themselves. Good to know as I can stop looking for it every day now

So I just wait a few days then. Might pre order it next week

I need to order a 3metre 16k cable before then or I won't be able to attach it to PC. Might as well pick up new surge protector at the same time.

checked link to see if it had same price, now its showing as out of stock and they don't know when it be back... i have my doubts. Maybe link not meant to be up yet. I look next week.

hnmn, its out of stock at Asus shop in US.
The one shop that shows it has it on Google shopping... click link, it shows its out of stock. They shouldn't be able to do that.

My latest thought is since the Asus Kithara Headphones were announced at CES at same time as Monitor, and are being released here on the 9th, I will check monitor then as well. That is date that was showing as its release date before they marked it as out of stock.

I would think that shop fronts can put items up early and can choose when to make them live. Otherwise it was the item being prepared for sale and I just caught it before it was marked out of stock. Or they were selling some as pre order before it was officially released.

I don't buy much off Amazon so not sure how it works.

From my perspective I'm happy to see him say that the picture quality upgrade is iterative rather than revolutionary though. Might have had to cancel my own order if it was a massive difference.

Have you heard anything about yours recently?

He said its enough to choose one over other. I can get the old one currently for 300 off but I want the scratch resistance the new one offers, he didn't mention it in video. As that feature doesn't change performance.

Its saying 24th-27th now, hasnt changed in a few days. It went to 13th at one point but then back up again.

Yea the scratch thing is a bit of a worry. Some people swear down its overstated and you can clean it fine with a microfiber and soft tap water, and others say they breathed on it and it ruined the whole screen. Somewhere in the middle I guess, will find out.

Just like to know when its released without having to guess. Amazon page shows out of stock and no idea if it ever come back - but I assume second part is standard. They aren't only ones showing it out of stock... no one has it yet. Wait and see what happens Monday.

Google AI says March... and that is just the USA... its not out there yet, PC Partpicker just has the old models.
Sigh, waste more time of my holiday waiting.

Normally when I buy something its already released. Last time I had to wait was my RX 7900 XT. It was last thing I bought on launch.

Decided to risk scratches and order one of these

I did look at a Samsung G8 for a while but anort convinced me to stick to Asus. It just sucks that every alternative I found isn't here yet.

Probably order on Monday as there is no rush to do it now, it wouldn't change order status over weekend anyway. Need to time the delivery to not conflict with pool visits.

Leaving it one more day just on off chance the Amazon release date was right.
