Games that you're genuinely sad over its current state

What is a game that has you like this?

My pick for this is Destiny 2 and i would think the resident PCG staff member that plays this game will agree this game is in terrible shape and needs something changed bad.

Destiny 2 is, first off, a broken buggy mess. A lot of the items that are to be used this season/act whatever you want to call it do not work along with all the other random bugs, crashes, disconnects, cheaters etc. plaguing the game in general. A month ago, there was a huge scandal discovered in the game that RNG was actually BUGGED for several years and not just "bad rng", legit rolls would not fall on weapons at all, ever. This had me pretty mad knowing there were some weapons i couldnt get the rolls on that i wanted.

On top of that, Bungie has serious communication problems with its community. They seem to never address players concerns and when they finally, FINALLY admit to a mistake, the "were sorry" gifts in game are very meager.

With all these bugs and bad communication, the game itself is just not fun at all anymore, even if its shooting and guns are still top notch in my book.

I havent played in a couple of months and im really not missing much. I stay active in knowing whats going on in Destiny but there has been nothing amazing or new they have implemented that wasnt completely broken, boring or not at all what the community has been asking for/wanted.

I am genuinely sad about this games current state. Having put so many hours in, playing activities with so many new people and trying to convince them to play. Its just not possible anymore, especially for a new player.

The below link is a video of probably one of Destiny 2's biggest reporters of the game and his sentiment here, having covered it from 2014 is truthful.

I'm going to say Star Wars: The Old Republic.

It's been in a barely breathing state for a long time . I can still find some joy joy in subbing to it a couple of months a year and replaying some of my favorite parts or playing the scattering of new content, but it's been a broken shadow of it's former self.

It's essentially run by a skeleton crew now and content drops are rare with them consisting of a daily mission zone and the next two hours or so of a storyline that's been going on for several months (maybe it's years now?).

It's development changed hands recently and the latest update seemed a little bit beefier than the last couple (I haven't played it yet so I don't know) which might be a small sign of hope, but I am too cynical to believe that.

I'll 2nd Destiny 2. I had a lot of fun playing with friends up until I think Season 5 when they decided to sunset weapons and armor. And then after getting so much flack for it, they un-sunsetted the sunsetting, except they didn't un-sunset armor. Armor that I spent how many dog gamn months masterworking for my Hunter, that also had ridiculous stats that I could almost infinitely spawn tethers in PvE. I wasn't able to find anything near those stats, and I gave up trying. I was so butt-hurt over it that I quit for a couple of years. I then tried to get back into it not too long ago, only to have a sadder and even more lackluster experience.

i have 2 for the list
Guild wars 2 ..... when it first came out like thousands of others i was looking forward to it as it was a couple of years over due .... all i can say is when i downloaded it i was severely underwhelmed. The cartoony type characters made it look like the game was being aimed a 7 year olds .

Dragon age veilguard ..... I looked at a video on youtube and the characters and most of the characters are unrecognisable. I saw some grey ashen looking dwarfs in one clip and until the subtitles came up as they spoke i did not realise who they were supposed to be.

Probably can't save that one. Not without mods and then people would whine about the mods. Best left dead.

I can relate. I was big time into Guild Wars - and dare I say I liked it more than WoW - and on both counts it was for that very reason, I'm not into cartoony characters. I never got into GW 2 for the same reason.

I initially didn't want to play the latest Dragon Age, either, for the same reason (well, that was one of the reasons anyway). The Qunari in particular just don't look right. They don't look like that menacing race that they were in the prior games. But, after having watched more gameplay, it has piqued my interest enough that I do plan to give it a go once I get through my current must-play list.

None, Unless I absolutely love something i don't bother and move on with my life. I don't have enough time to playthings I love and between replays of my favs and trying to play the ones i picked up for a couple bucks, there is zero reason to be sad. Not when i just picked up Oxenfree II for 2 dollars, and lamplighters for 12.

Unless of course you want to count being sad that a game did not sell well so the chances of seeing a midnight sun's 2, or a X-men version, or Lamplighters 2, or more with andromeda, or Freedom force 3 finally coming. (been waiting 20+ years for that one) Also having games shut down makes me sad too, Starwars galaxies and city of heroes shutting down really sucked. I know i can play both now, years later, but when you play something for 8+ years and then have to start over, it takes away all the fun. So i moved on and play things I wouldn't have as a good portion of my time would be on those MMO's, so i guess it's not all bad.
