Friends List.

We have a Steam Group - https://store.steampowered.com/curator/1850-PC-Gamer/ but that doesn't appear to be same thing
Youtube channel? okay, I found that - https://www.youtube.com/c/pcgamer

I can see interesting outcomes from such a list here.

Did you try Discord?

Oh the STEAM one is a start, probably the most used one as well.

You just want me to subscribe don't you Col, little baiter you! Okay I'm convinced.

Interesting in a good way? I thought it would be quite handy, see when people are on, what they're playing, play together. It made sense given we're all talking about the same hobby/topics.

Well, i don't visit discord much but it seems to be where the more active players are.

they have a few channels for games where you can lfg for instance.

A listing here for the forum users would make sense...

I mean sure Discord works, but then how would I stalk you Col? I mean.. invite you to play games. 🤐

If one of you fancy Mods could setup a stick or something on that wave length, it would be cool. Assuming people would like that..

I think it depends on the course you pick, and if you clever enough to make sure there are jobs in the field you are doing it on.

I did a Diploma in Library & Information Services a few years ago and it was half way through course that I find there are no jobs at thee end of it... libraries sort of dying due to internet. Counter productive as you really more likely to find info in a library compared to Google now. Knowing what real database search engines can provide makes using Google painful.

I learned a lot but much of its useless now.

Account details already has the possibility to add a Skype, Facebook and Twitter identity. It would make the most sense if we could add gaming platform identities there as well, instead of stickying a thread somewhere.
thats a good idea, I wonder if there is a way to add more choices to the Account details screen. TBH I only just found this - https://forums.pcgamer.com/account/account-details so at least you could add more if you wanted to.

@CParsons any chance of getting more choices under identities such as Steam id or others mentioned here:
STEAM, EA, GoG, Ubisoft

then people could add if they want to.

Yeah, we can add anything you want there. That being said, I don't really want to any / every site. We can certainly add Steam and say.. Discord? Probably more relevant that Skype lol.

I wouldnt mind joining something thats unique to us. Maybe we can form a discord and invite the person that wrote that article about it lol. My name across everything is my name here on these forums, so that would be my discord and steam names which is really all i use.

if there was a game I wanted to play, I tend to play them all the time... leaving little time for other things. So instead I just don't play any games while I am doing a course, even if the amount of work is little. I don't know how much there is going to be in a lesson until I get it, and some weeks there are multiple lessons. So I feel its safest not to do anything that wants all my attention until its over. Some lessons are longer than others.

I feel the one hour lessons exist just cause they want course to run X amount of weeks. as I see no reason some couldn't be combined into one lesson.

Currently nothing I want to play so its an easy decision to make.

Maybe we can form a discord Server
PCG already has a server, so I think having 2 could be confusing and counter productive :)
https://discord.gg/pcgamer is our server but most of the people there aren't from these forums. They are likely forum members but I don't know how many people use both.

I feel if we wanted a room or something on it, it might be possible... I would have to ask.
