Downsizing Advice

Hi,
I have the following

Case: Corsair case 4000d
AIO: Corsair H115i Pro
CPU: 5600x
GPU: 3080
x2 SSD
RAM: 16BG
Motherboard: TUF x something something something...
Montior: Dell 1440p (not sure on the model)

Alas. I very rarely use the PC (priorities, family, work, other hobbies) - However one reason also, the PC is massive. I'm very much a part time PC'er, and would - rather than give the PC away, look into creating a 'smaller' PC.

Now, whilst I am not a heavy gamer, I like switching games on, run at 1440p and not care about having to switch settings. And I like the sound from said PC to be on the quieter side. And my current set up does just that.

So. Downsizing.

What are my options. Id rather keep what I can, however assuming I need a new mother board (mirco ATX?), seems worthwhile to get a new CPU and RAM?

Otherwise, just get the same type of motherboard, keep the CPU / RAM and just get a 'smaller' AIO?

Thoughts and advice is very welcome :)

If by downsizing you mean you want everything in a smaller case then their are a few things to bear in mind.
The case you choose must obviously be able to house all you components you might also have cooling problems as you may not be able to fit as many fans in the case. You could go onto a site such as pc specialists and start by choosing your case and then the components. At the end of the building process their checking system will tell you if your chosen parts are compatible and also if they will fit inside the case. The one thing you must not skimp on is a good quality gold series psu.

Their is another road you you could go down , their are a lot of good quality mini pc's around and some of them are good enough for gaming. check this link.

Even if you dont play games very often you need to make sure the components you choose are good enough for the games you want to play.

You can do this by typing into a browser .... can i run ( your game ) and you can find sites that will tell you recommended and minimum spec to run the games you have

Thank you for the reply. In summary. Yes, just a smaller case I can have on a desktop (so I’m avoiding the mini PC’s - only because I’d like to re use what I have - and keep the ability to game - assuming the 3080 is still ‘better than what would be in a mini pc?

I have a gold series PSU already - whether it’ll fit.

Good idea on going to the PC Specalist website. I’ll spec a pc there with the parts I have, in a smaller case! :)
