The last time they bit me was when I had my plastic boot on and decided to sit outside at night just to get out of the house. That could have been ants though.

Most times it occurs is at night after rain. Its raining tonday so I leave it closed. Autumn might be showing up early as going down to 6c tomorrow morning. That will be nice. Ever since getting insulation my room just too hot. Most days.

I was talking to a friend once who said the trick to not getting bitten by mosquitos is avoiding sweets, fruits and carbs until your blood doesn't smell sweet to them. That's the main thing that attracts them to you. Of course the problem is that's hard enough to do just in preparation for a two week camping trip or something, but if where you live has them on a daily basis in the warm weather, it's another thing entirely.

Other things that can keep them away though is trying to eliminate any standing water near your home, puddles, small wading pools, etc. I don't think chlorinated pools count as I'm pretty sure they can't breed in that due to the chemicals. There's also things you can burn like citronella candles that repel them, and then there's those little devices that attract, then zap them. There's even an electric zapper/swatter thing now.

That reminds me of this video (from 18 years ago):

Funny looking back at the RTX 30 series hype too felt like a huge leap at the time, but now it’s just “normal.” Makes me wonder if current-gen GPUs will age the same way or if we’ve kind of hit a slower progress phase.

LOL, what happens when the bug zapper glitches? You pray to God it doesn't hit you instead that's what! 🤣

Man, I've become terribly, terribly sentimental, probably due to my health issues and lack of sleep, and have lost control of my emotions when I'm doing that. I had a picture of my mother, who passed years ago, holding Guido when he was either 2 or 3. The picture itself didn't cause me any problems, so I put it in my AI movie generator and just typed "The woman is smiling, the little boy is laughing," and hit "Generate". When the movie was finished, I hit the play button. I lasted for less than 2 seconds before I turned it off. I have several voicemails from my mother on my phone that I never deleted. If I wanted to I could clone her voice and have her talking to Guido, but...that would be very bad for me.

And then this morning I wanted to listen to some music. I remembered that I liked the theme song to Ark Survival Evolved, but I couldn't remember it, so I pulled up the theme song and hit play. I have 655 hours in that game, almost every second of it with Guido. It's some of the most fun I've ever had. When the theme song started, I didn't remember it but when the main part of the song kicked in, my eyes instantly watered up. I've always been a romantic, but I've never been quite this pathetic before, and I don't like it at all. Time to get control of myself.

I don't know who Studio Wildcard uses for its music, but it's as good as it gets.

Edit: Jesus, now I almost cried watching a calculator commercial @neogunhero 🤣

Did almost all of the oval this afternoon, about 1 kilometre all up. Feet were starting to complain towards the end and the few trees on that side of oval were appreciated for their shade.. I would have done entire oval but a woman was exercising her dogs on one side and I just left them alone.

Feet ache more after I stopped.

I have to deal with wind regardless of which way I go. One way obscures how far I have to walk to do a lap but its on bike track, whereas the other way I can see entire oval but I can stick to the grass which is easier to walk on. Not sure which I prefer...

Was thinking earlier about the first day after I had broken my foot and how hard it was just to get out of the house. It doesn't feel that long ago. I wish I still had to walk around in the pool, that was fun while it lasted.

Still need to try to walk to shops, been sticking to flat surfaces and most of suburb is hilly. Might walk home from there tomorrow and see how I go.

"Oval"? I recall you showing a sort of angled rectangular-ish route before, but not sure what you mean by oval. You're not talking about what we here in the states call a culdesac are you? A culdesac is a neighborhood street that is closed at one end, but can sometimes be a loop.

I ask you to read this, even though it may be a bit long (I'll try to cut it down) so that you can know what sort of self-inflicted torture I have put myself through.

I decided to make a several minute (I don't know exactly how long) AI video. At my most optimized, I can make 5 second videos, so that's 12 videos for 1 minute. It doesn't sound that bad. It only takes 1 to 2 minutes for each video depending on where I have my settings.

(two AI's work on it. One charts out the motion, and the other paints it. If you have a lot of motion, you have to give priority to that AI, and it takes longer)

The first frustration and nearly a mountain too steep to scale, is that the local video generator really has no memory. If a character turns its head for a second, when it looks back around, it will look completely different. This means I have to train the AI specifically on each character. HOWEVER, you can only really use one character training at a time and there can really only be one character on screen when you use it, otherwise the AI makes everyone look like that character.

So I've been working on this for over a week, and I had 15 videos that were acceptable going into this morning. I don't know how many videos I've made and deleted, but it's probably in the hundreds.

So today, I was working on a scene where a husband and wife were playing a board game
...because this is going to be the most boring video ever, a tribute to Woody Allen (yes, he's a terrible person, but he makes good movies)...(Also, I'm planning to add voice-overs),
and then the man was supposed to get up and walk into the bedroom.

So the board game represents something important to my story, so I put a lot of time into that. And things were going great. The board game scene took 9 videos, almost as many as I've successfully made so far, and I got them done! Or so I thought. I was so focused on the characters and the board game, that when I watched that last, ninth video, it was the first time I realized that the woman in the painting behind them was apparently carrying on a conversation with someone. I went back and looked at all 9 videos, and she was moving in all of them. Not much, mind you, but she was definitely moving.

That was frustrating, but fixable with inpainting. I can highlight the painting and tell it that the woman doesn't move. Probably 90 percent of the time she'll move anyway, but I can eventually get it right.

And this is where it got frustrating, really frustrating.

I decided to move on, and prompted the guy to go to the bedroom. In the next five second clip, he makes it to within a foot of the bedroom door. Feeling success was immanent, I prompted only, "He walks through the door and walks out of view to the right."

So it takes about 90 seconds and the clip is finished. I watch it, and the guy doesn't move. However, some new guy who isn't in the damn story walks past him and into the bedroom. Through the next God only knows how many videos, no matter how I phrased it, no matter where I put the settings, this other dude walks past my character and into the bedroom. I decided I needed to start back over when the guy left the game. So what happens? My guy never gets up, but this other dude, who was apparently lying in the floor, gets up and heads to the bedroom.

I've never bothered to curse an AI before, but my next prompt was X Rated. At this point, I decided to quit for the day and redownload the model, as mine has obviously lost it.
