Maybe half a foot to 8 inches of snow expected here, with temps dipping down to just above 0... or maybe just below. That should make for really light snow, so it should be easy to blow off on Sunday.

It's a pity the Miami Dolphins aren't in town. They love playing football in this sort of weather! ;)

CoPilot is an egregious mansplainer.

I could hear this weird noise coming from mums room, it sounded like her cooling fan was rubbing against something... so i went in and woke her up - was going to use torch but I couldn't find one and I knew turning light on would wake her so I just called her name
The noise was her snoring... I have heard her snore before, this was almost mechanical.

Reminds me of the horrible experience I had last time I had a bad chest cold. First time I've ever had a cold where I could hear my wind pipe rattle when I coughed. I'd heard of the expression wind pipe rattle before, but it's very painful and scary when it happens to you.

I remember as a kid going on vacation and being in a hotel room with my parents. They both snored. Sometimes, one would stop snoring, and I could hear the other's snoring become more... worried? until both were snoring again. (Or I could have just imagined it. I was terribly tired after a long, hard day of sitting in a car and doing nothing at all.)

Maybe 4 inches of snow here and the sun has already come out. The temperature is up to 6F (-14C). As expected, the snow blows off pretty easily. The cold turns my long extension cord for the snow blower into a giant spring, though! I didn't even try to wrap the thing back around its spool.

Its the same source, be nice if it agreed. Which one is accurate?
Neither. Given the coal fire going on in your PC, they are both lying to spare you the mental anguish of reality.

I feel like I had a sublime moment of advanced communication with my dog.

The kids were here for a few minutes Friday night before they and my wife went to spend the night in a hotel next to the airport since they had to be there so early. A few minutes after they left, my dog let out a quiet, forlorn whimper. I quietly responded, "I know, I feel it too." And she never made another sound the rest of the night.

I realize this is probably anthropomorphism, but dogs know more than we imagine.

I'm doing much better than I used to do, but I guess I will never truly get over not having my kids around.

Well now I don't want my kids to grow-up.

Helped my sister in law move on Friday and today, she needed some help getting her internet setup. I managed to get things working pretty much immediately, but noticed her speeds were absolutely pathetic; standing next to the router, I was hitting 50Mbps and plugged in, similar speeds. Apparently she pays for 1Gbps, but the modem she has (which I gave her some time ago) only supported up to 343Mbps, which it wasn't seeing and the Router was like 450Mbps, but was just old and busted.

Told her she unfortunately needs to spend some money for updated equipment, so we went over to Microcenter and I picked out a new modem and router for her. Now she's getting damn near 1Gbps over Wifi next to the router and 600Mbps+ around the house over Wifi, which is just amazing to me.

Made me realize my own Wifi is fairly pathetic, given I'm only seeing about 500Mbps right next to my AP and generally around 100-150Mbps around the house on my laptop. So I found a new Wifi 6 Unifi U6 Pro at Microcenter, Open Box, for about $140 out the door; going to go pick it up tomorrow and see how it works in my non-optimal spot I currently have my AP.

If it doesn't work well, looks like I'm going to learn how to make ethernet cables and then do a few drops around the house.
