I tend to try and look mostly at the "subscribed" page these days.

Nebula is nice as a service, but it has no algorithm, so you need to know what you're looking for. Half the time I forget to look there anyway, but I keep paying for it because I feel like it's helping some of my favorite people without directly contributing to a dozen patreons.

Finally returned from my trip. Had some car troubles in the middle of Iowa and was worried I was going to be stuck there; thankfully I did a little research on my problem, as well as brought some tools. I was able to remove the cables from the battery, clean them and the terminals and the issue was resolved and didn't leave us stranded.

I did hit 245k miles during this trip as well, so that's kind of cool.

Happy to be home, but I've immediately developed severe allergies again, so that's pretty annoying. Hopefully I'll be able to sleep tonight with them.

Youtube is a little better today.

It is probably my fault, I tend to doom scroll the page while listening to my music, its something to look at, but it might confuse site as I rarely click anything as I would have to stop listening to music on my headphones to watch a video. Most days only interaction will be to block a recommendation... so I am not really telling it what I want to see, just what I don't.

There are only two websites I spend most of my time on... here, and Youtube. the 3rd place is probably google search but no idea what 4th would be now.

I think i need to continue ripping my cd's in case Australia breaks my internet access in December and I suddenly have nothing to listen to or watch.

Two weeks left on my course. I don't really want it to end... I have been doing courses since February last year, won't know what to do with myself once its finished.
It is not even next week yet (It will be in a few more minutes) and I already done most of the questions for it already. I was staying awake all night to do homework and I am already finished...
20 questions left to the end. I can see them now. 14 days to do them in.

Wonders what Zed did this time. Its too quiet around here without him.

Think Zed disabled his account, couldn't say why though. But yeah, we need him to help keep this place pumping.

I have a sinus infection, I'm pretty sure. I'm not sick per se, but I'm very congested and having constant allergies. It started after staying in a musty hotel room last Sunday night and I'm thinking there was black mold in there; hoping it clears up soon, cause it's making sleep challenging.

We had my wife's 40th birthday yesterday, which was a big bash. We paid some friends to cater it, rented a bunch of chairs, borrowed some party tents (not sure what else to call them. Awnings?) and some tables. Probably had around 50 people come, not necessarily all at once, but there was definitely a high at some point when the food was ready.

Overall it was pretty fun, plenty of food, booze and pie for dessert. My sister and her husband came, which was nice, they're usually pretty introverted and also had most of my D&D group come who are also introverted. I ended up bouncing around the party, trying to interact with lots of people and do little tasks that needed doing. It was a pretty good time.

Shame we never shared Steam logons anywhere.

Might not be a terrible idea if we had a thread for it. Though admittedly, I'd rather keep it to PMs (if we had them) than post it publicly.

Edit: poked through the uploaded media with some filters and found Zeds end of year steam replay around Dec 20th, which seems to have his Steam account name on it? I didn't try it yet for adding a friend and I won't post it here, but if you want to find it looks like it's doable.

@BeardyHat Do you need to follow a regimen to deal with your sinus? For me it's steam inhalation and use of saline nasal spray. Perhaps a sinus irrigation is a good idea so that presumed mold isn't making plans inside your sinus cavity. Dad was a surgeon and he made me study for med school...I've also seen a lot to be scared of any medical topics, big or small.

Pass on a belated happy birthday, well wishes and congrats to your wife from all of us, when you get the chance.

Lastly, the pandemic taught us that we all need to socialize, in some manner, shape or form. Glad you were able to get people out to said party and have fun!

Thanks!

I have a NeilMed saline solution I can put up my nose, which I did exactly once in the 8+ months I've owned it, because I hated it so much. Putting stuff up my nose is not for me, which, I guess is why I never bothered to try drugs.

Although I do have some FloNase I will use and that might be helping? I've hacked up a lot of yellow gunk today and do feel like I'm feeling a little better this morning, so we'll see.

I may send a request myself but there are good chances he wouldn't know who I am... steam ID existed before this name did.

Yeah, my Steam name is different from here and also...not exactly appropriate.

Welcome!

Hated, how so? A burn or itchy feeling or you just didn't like the sensation in your nasal cavity? I refuse to use neti pots, I might look into a Navage kit but their saline pods...aren't cheap although there are hacks to circumvent that courtesy of YT.

I hope your congestion clears up. Yellow discharge is a good sign, though would be a good idea to keep an eye on it in case you see something red among all that.

My wife asked me if I was willing to get her McDonald's today as she had a really strong craving for it. However, since we don't have a car and no McDonald's in our city, our only options are to take a 45 minute bus ride and then back, but the bus only goes once an hour on Sundays, or go about 30-40 minutes by bike to a closer city.

So after 30 minutes of biking I arrived at a construction site. Turns out they're rebuilding the entire thing from scratch. Luckily the train station was pretty close, so I took a train to the city I could've just taken a bus to, got the McDonald's there, took a train back and biked all the way back home. All-in-all I was out for well over 2 hours, but both my wife and my kid were very happy with their food.

You could be right. He may have done it himself. Shame we can't message anyone anymore... I can't recall if disabled accounts got messages.

Shame we never shared Steam logons anywhere.

I have Zed on Steam because he wanted to send me a video game and PMs were disabled on here. He did say he wasn't planning on coming back.

The things we do for love 🙏 I do the same, if the food's good, I go the distance! Have taken people to the other side of town just because I stumbled upon a joint that was different from the rest.

If you love food, you gots to share that with the people you love!

Just hated the feeling of stuff going up my nose and coming back out. Felt like when you accidentally inhale something up the back of your sinus; yuck.

That's dedication. Gotta say, I'm not sure I'd do the same!

Though I did drive a couple of hours the other day into the mountains to buy an Amish quilt for my wife's birthday. Still need to put it in a box and wrap it, but her real birthday isn't until Wednesday anyway.

Tell em we'll miss him here; a pillar of the community.

I guess its a bit late but dont get take out. Mcdonalds tastes horrible after sitting. Go to the place even sitting fir 10 mins the food is vastly worse.

I worked there for a bit and i get that craving on occasion. They used to throw out food afyer 15 mins of sitting because it was considered not edible.

Next time take the wife and kids on an adventure and get it fresh, you can thank me later :)

I personally agree with you entirely, but my wife and kid were happy with their cold food, which is all that mattered.

Once again, poor sleep. Struggled to fall asleep and then ended-up waking up at 5am needing to clear out my sinuses, throat and bowels (sorry). Still pretty stuffed up today, but it feels like I'm getting towards the tail end of this sickness, finally.

I'm thinking about inviting all my friends over on Saturday for some beer drinking and maybe Magic the Gathering, but also after my wife's party on Saturday, I'm pretty sociall wiped, so I'm not sure I actually want to do that. I might just invite a single friend over and see if we can learn a new wargame.

And today, I'd like to clear out my garage. It was clean before I left, but now that I've returned I put a bunch of stuff I brought home in there and I need to get it sorted again, especially if I'm going to have friends over. It's nice to play games in the garage and that can't happen at the moment.

But I'm also thinking about maybe going to Costco to buy a blender and then just taking it easy for the rest of the day...we'll see.

Yeap, I just take whoever I want to treat over to the establishment. Food that's off the griddle onto your plat in minutes just hits differently! I used to know the entire staff at my local BurgerKing joint because I had a specific sequence as to how i like my burgers.

Wait, you used to work at McDonalds? We demand free food, cos we know you! Free. Food. Free. Food. Free. Food!

You could pop them in a microwave with a cup of water, low-medium, 30secs(max), the humidity inside the microwave will help with reheating the innards. I usually do that with pizza. You knew that already, I'm sure.

Yeap, I hate it when that happens. Post nasal drip, tummy starts aching and everything feels like rubbish.
