I am on -23 internet points, whatever that means. Been using them 9 years now.

I don't think I ever got any comments, don't care.
It wasn't the downvotes themselves that concerned me. It was that I had apparently misunderstood the purpose of the site. I didn't realize people were looking through it like a Twitter feed. Had I known that, there would have been boobs somewhere in the picture.

I had a weird thing happen not that long ago. I made a video, and at the beginning of the video, it played, a portion of Vivaldi: Spring. After the wake-up sequence, the song switch to an original song I made myself (more of a loop than a song, really). So I posted the video and got a copyright notice for the Vivaldi song. It gave me an address for the Video that supposedly owned the Vivaldi song. I watched the video and the music had been done very similarly to mine in that Spring was weaved into an original song. I knew that the artist had borrowed the Vivaldi clip from exactly the same place I had. They were identical. So I contested the copyright and sent the other guy a note saying that I thought I had been hit by accident by their automated system and that I assumed he didn't actually own the rights to the orchestral version he used and provided a link to it. That's a long story to say that artist didn't object to my contesting the claim and YouTube reversed the decision. By the way, my video wasn't monetized.

But it's confusing to me because YouTube is a disaster. The Vivaldi song we both stole was uploaded by some random person who had nothing to do with the orchestra that performed it, and now some other artist was being given credit by YouTube for owning that performance (I'm sure that was some automated thing, and that guy didn't even know).

By the way, my video was just a dumb clip of a game I played that I uploaded for people here to watch. If it had been something important, I would have performed it myself.
Yes, in this situation none of you were at fault. There are cases like this. So Original Vivaldi poster just posted it to say, "Hey this is cool and let's get some views". His settings when uploading was set to "not copyright" which is the way to go if you post someone Elses things Would have been even better if he just shared the original but each to his own I guess,

. The second person had the copyright setting to "On" trying to protect his music after the Vivaldi piece. Again, right way to do it since he is protecting what he created.

You posted yours and you got flagged by the 2nd user who did not copyright the Vivaldi piece but his own works after it. So in this situation Vivaldi became the Loop (Never in my wildest dreams would have thought I would call Vivaldi a "Loop" which belonged to neither of you but the loop got detected.

So if I was a "Loop" creator, I could have insisted that I made the "Idea" first" and by copyright law if you composed it, it is your.

But yes there are cases like that. I used to get nailed on Spotify and Distrokid a lot. I still use Distrokid a bit and now Sound Cloud, but I avoid Spotify since everything even a normal E3 bass string that carries on for longer than 4 seconds gets flagged.

I have never tried You Tube for my own stuff to be honest. I am not a video creator so would not even know where to start on something like that anyway. Maybe with the new software I will be able to make a video or two but that is not at the top of my to do list.

i didn't know people did that either but I guess they do it on the phone app, that I don't have/use

Now its got an arcade as well. Stay awhile and listen.

That reminded me. I posted it in this thread ages ago, but my daughter uploaded an original song to Youtube and got about 50k (if my addled brain is remembering correctly) views the first day, which I thought was pretty cool. I'm not sure what it's at now, but that was a couple of years ago, and she never bothered to upload another song.

I'll send her a message, but she's working two jobs and doing her last semester of college, so I don't expect a quick reply, or really any reply at all, tbh. I could try luring her in by asking if she needs money :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

That how I get my kids to talk to me.

I start the message with: "Been thinking about you guys a lot lately, do you guys need anything?"

2/3 hours max and I have a lengthy conversation with them. LMAO

If one is on the fence about lawn mowers, or plain scared of them, there's always Lawn Mowing Simulator to get you started!

Sorry had to watch the whole video.

It's a man thing...... You see someone mow the lawn, you kick your feet up, crack a beer and watch him work ...........

Definately not a game I would be spending any coin on except if my wife wants Ride-on mower training then I will gladly purchase the game for her and install it on any computer or laptop that I never use.

Not too sure on that one. My wife is the one who introduced me to a lawn mowing channel on YouTube. She likes to watch while she's waiting for code to compile at work.

Leaving on my road trip tomorrow, hoping everything goes well! While I was doing some fluid checks on my van, I did notice some ticking, but I'm pretty sure it's just normal fuel injector operation.

I am definitely concerned about going 1000 miles, but even so, it'll be the easiest trip my van has done this summer, so ought to be fine!

Honestly, the hardest part has been deciding what to bring with me, as far as hobbies go. Definitely bringing my laptop at the least, as well as some models to finish painting with my painting kit. Thinking about bringing my RC car as a project, but I'm only going to be there 5 days (with 4 days worth of driving), so I dunno.

Saturday I'll be attending VCF Midwest, which will probably be fun? I'm only going because I happen to be in town as it happens, but I've realized that while I like retro games, I don't particularly care about retro hardware and old computers or how they work.

Relating to this conversation. Had to share this as prove of how messy the copyright laws can be. (Yeah blowing off steam on it after all these years. But good example of how copyright works for small artists.)

About 3 or 4 years ago I made an arrangement on Schubert "Marche Militaire op 51". (Would have love to add the link but mine was "seized" and still is and I am not allowed to touch my version.)

Had the whole orchestra going on it had some cymbal clashes here and there, really made an effort on it. Sounded very well and had many views on it within 2 weeks.

A cover version of it incase you do not know the piece. (Need to go in a bit to get to the melody)

During the 3rd week I got a notification that I am in copyright violation, and the track has been removed. Did not think much of it (Requested an Appeal since it was and still is a public domain Classical piece) and possibly a month later I got my "Seize" notification.

At this point I started hunting who copyrighted Schubert. Eventually found them. It was a local song (In Afrikaans) that has a similar melody to the above track. I contacted them figuring that they would allow me to get my track back online, but they just slammed the doors on me saying that if I want to use it I must pay them for it.

This is a version of the song I lost my arrangement to. (Yeah!! I was angry) (Again need to go in a bit to the melody). Not this exact one but same song with different instruments.

I was issued with a warning (In court during my appeal hearing) that if I do touch anything of their tracks again that I will be sued. I ended up paying all legal fees for this venture.

Originally a Schubert piece but now copyrighted by a south african producer.

And I'll be off this morning! First day of road trip, hopefully all goes well with my car. I'm going with my Mom and hopefully we don't chat too much about... Certain subjects, which we vehemently disagree on.

I think it'll ultimately be fun though and hopefully I can go the whole 8 hours today. Ended-up being up since 4am with suffocating anxiety, so I'm a little tired to say the least...

You must take care on the road. Would have offered assistance if you need some on the road but you will wait a long time for me to get there.

Stay safe. Destination is running nowhere, so no rush.

And lastly, BE GOOD, if not, BE GOOD AT IT!!

Enjoy your trip

HMMMmmmmmm, I must tell:

So, my son came to me for a visit the other day and the conversation went something like this:

Son: "Dad, you know I am planning on getting married someday. What advice would you give me or anyone for a long and happy marriage"

I had to think about it, eventually my response was:

"Son, I know you are not engaged yet so everything starts from the engagement point forward. When she says yes, as part of the Engagement ring you give her a Puppy. Not just any puppy. The most vicious breed you can get hold of. The puppy you will name "Netstar", and the puppy will grow into the fearsome creature nature has made it into."

By this point he is making notes and I continue:

"A year later when you guys get married as per tradition allows, Netstar will be a grown ass dog and your future wife will be protected from all dangers. She will be happy since you provided her with safety"

Son: "Will it not just be easier to buy burglar bars and get her a gun?"

Me: "No son this has absolutely nothing to do with her safety but actually yours. Buying her a gun will cause endless problems later on. But let me tell you why this is for your safety. In a marriage, the first year, the man talks, and the woman listens. The second year the woman talks, and the man listens, but from the third year onwards, both talk and the neighbours listen. This is where "netstar" comes in. You come home from work, tired and you look up the driveway and netstar comes running towards you tail wagging and extremely happy to see you, then you go in and have a beer."

"When you get home and that extremely vicious dog is cowering under a bush tail between the legs and too scared to move. Go have your beer at the pub since you are in trouble anyway so just as well get a beer with some peace and quiet"

"Netstar your early warning system!"

"In addition, that ring you give her for engagement, keep in mind that is merely a deposit.....you pay for that for the rest of your life!"

My son bought a Pitbull the other day. Vicious looking puppy with teeth like a crocodile. Think he is going to propose.

Was a joke just BTW.

Joke or not, I'm sure those neighbors would be paying attention at that point. :ROFLMAO:

The odd thing is, pretty much ALL Pitbull puppies I've seen look so cute and innocent. I'm pretty sure most that get unsafe toward humans when they're full grown are owned by people that only care about their own protection.

I am a huge pitbull fan. Was introduced to the breed probably about 30 years ago. Fell in love with the breed and never changed breeds again. The oldest of them didn't make winter last year (Very long sad story) and then still have one left (She is about 9 years old, FAT, overweight, stinks up the whole place, takes over the bed, does whatever she wants to or feel like, but daddy's little girl). To me they are 4 legged kids not dogs.

People are scared of them pretty much for no reason, they are just big teddy bears that will do anything to please you. I am 50 now, so think I have enough time to maybe get a last one. All mine reached about 14 years. Think I have another 14 years in me.

Well I certainly hope so, otherwise you won't even make it to my age!
Biggest fear is getting another one and then I leave it behind. Even if I leave it to one of the kids, I will never know if they take care of it the way they should.

Unfortunately, they need a lot of love and attention and obvious TLC. You miss either one of the two they will take your tractor apart within an hour just to get to a rat.......simply because they are bored and needs something to do.

A lot to consider before getting a final one.

Best saying I ever heard of them:

"Up to 6 months of age they die just because they saw a cloud in the sky. After that, the only thing that can stop them is a train!"
LMAO, heard that being said once and got stuck in my head.

Lost several puppies over the years that the vets could not get sorted and eventually started medicating them myself like I do the Cattle. Haven't lost one since. Blue (The last one left) only knows a VET is the thing she gets to bark at when there is a big problem with one of the cattle. Apart from that she does not even know where the VET stays or work from. Unfortunately, they are not very tough when young.

its all about posts.. I don't care about that... they trying to make people social... gl with that, I been on Reddit 20 odd years now and never posted.
Imgur these days reminds me a lot of a website I used to frequent in the 00s called FunnyJunk. Just random photos posted ranging anywhere from comics, wholesome moments, general funny pics... just a hodgepodge of people uploading photos trying to win internet likes and comments.
