And here my kids are scared of just falling over on flat ground! Haven't been able to convince my 5 year old to even try the peddle bike for more than a few minutes yet.

Though he comes from wary, risk averse stock, so I suppose none of that is surprising. 😂
If you ask me, that's an excellent way for children to be. The first few years of my daughter's life felt like I was in a desperate bid to keep her alive. Of course, that's just her. She joined the Marines and is now a park ranger, so a bit of adventure is just what she craves.

Guido, on the other hand, was born with the temperament of a neurosurgeon, steady and calm.

The only override I think I managed with my daughter was drilling into her the need to not do stupid things while controlling a vehicle.

I'M HOME!

And days early. There are still things we can't do, but we can flush toilets and take 5 minute showers, and that's good enough for me.

A hiker in a park (not the park my daughter works at, although the parks are basically next door to each other), for reasons no one will ever know, decided to pick up a Timber Rattler. Apparently they gave this guy a ton of anti-venom and antihistamines, but he still died.

The bites usually aren't fatal, although that's the state's most poisonous snake, but I think it's kind of like with bees, where some people have severe allergic reactions that are actually worse than the bite/poison.

Been playing around a little more with my switch. Its now the first time i actually have a portable game-dedicated device in my hand and even if its a pretty sub-par piece of hardware today, ive bought some old pc games that seem to come out pretty good (serious sam collection/diablo 2 resurrected).

I was looking at some of the nintendo games and it seems those shine really well on it so, dare i say i might buy one? Mario Kart is probably a must buy since my son and i can now play it on a tv together. He had a DS and some old nintendo stuff from when he was a kid. But theres one called Super Mario Wonder that looks fun and colorful. Might be nice for those times im away from my pc.

Damn you verizon and your free switch offer. Im a gamer and a new console of any sorts is gonna trigger that haha.

We skipped the training wheels completely with both kids and got them on balance bikes first, which have gone pretty well. The oldest now rides a pedal bike no problem and the youngest can balance on the balance bike very easily, but both get scared when they struggle to put their feet on the ground as they slow down.

He could balance and ride no problem, it's just that he lacks the confidence. It was the same with the older one for awhile.

Definitely. Though in spite of risky behavior on the younger one, both of them are very scared of getting hurt. I do worry about the younger one driving when it comes time... Hell crossing the street too.

Nice to be home! No place like your own domain, but I'm a homebody, so...

Before you know it, you'll have a Steam Deck too. Portability is just so nice.

Though I haven't touched my Deck since I finished M&M 4, but I also haven't found a new game I want to play yet that's also a good fit for the Deck.

I've been playing a bunch of stuff on my tablet, which kind of horrifies me, if I'm honest.

this came to mind. Finding it was fun, forgot shows name... Youtube search results seem to only want to show Shorts now... really wish I could just turn them off. Stop it YouTube, you aren't Tiktok... please stop. I hate shorts.

I helped my parents remove the carpet in one of the rooms in their new apartment and managed to cut myself on my hand. It's not too bad, but fairly deep. I rinsed it out and my mom grabbed a bandaid, but for some reason I got extremely lightheaded. After my mom applied the bandaid I tried to get to my chair but my vision just went black and I fell over.

I've never been particularly squeamish around blood and it's not the worst wound I've had, nor have I ever had such a reaction before from getting hurt. I might have been somewhat dehydrated because I'd been sweating like crazy, but it's weird I felt completely fine until a minute after I hurt myself.

Anyway, next time I feel lightheaded I should really just sit down instead of trying to walk. I was lucky I didn't hurt myself more on my way down.

Unrequested Advice: Dehydration and sweating are a very bad combination. Your blood volume can decrease significantly. You are also bleeding electrolytes. You could have been low in sodium and potassium. You have to treat yourself like a professional athlete and chug sports drinks like Gatorade. You may not have Gatorade in Germany. Look for Powerade, which is owned by Coke and is the same thing, water and electrolytes. Some of them also have a little sugar or artificial sweetener.

I was meant to do homework today but for some random reason I couldn't sleep last night. Turned light off at 3am and still awake at 7.30am. Even when i did sleep it was only for four hours.

I know, nothing like Zed who becomes a zombie but I only just started to feel awake in the last 20 minutes or so.

Have to do homework tomorrow now. Before I get another weeks worth added on top.
rash on my leg finally disappeared... handy since I don't have any cream left to put on it.

Yikes on the health issues, y'all. Definitely gotta maintain hydration; it's so dry here, it's constant water.

I was bored and went to TikTok and found a bunch of AI fakes, cute girl accounts with tons of adoring followers who have no idea the girls aren't real. Here's the most recent one I've found: https://www.tiktok.com/@tessatinyy

I can't seem to watch them (I don't have an account), but how can you tell it's AI? Maybe it would be easier if they actually played, but it looks fairly legit at a glance.

Because the AI site that I work with has these movies playing non-stop and you learn to recognize them very easily. I'm 100 percent that these are AI. Plus this guy made a bunch of them and they are all identical just with different girls.

Neat! My friend gave me his old busted FDM printer last year and it's kind of just been sitting for awhile. Over the past few months, I've been ordering parts here and there, taking things apart and cleaning it up, trying to figure out how it works. Ended up buying a new motherboard and replacing a cheap Z-axis sensor he put on it with a newer system that can measure the bed more accurately and compensate for minor differences in level. Spent today mucking about with the software and dialing things in and I've had success! Printed this hill for Battletech, which took about 3 and a half hours.

Now I've gone whole hog and loaded up the build plate with a bunch more of them. Says it'll take 17 hours, so we'll see if it continues to work by tomorrow!

Only cost me $60 and some of my time.

i don't have anything against AI personally, its how Humans are using it that concerns me.

Too many cannot tell the difference between reality and fiction.... even before you introduce any AI into the scenario. So they bound to believe a program is a person. Especially if it agrees with them.

I don't know what angle PCG dislikes them from... it could be:
  1. its stealing our jobs
  2. its stealing the jobs of devs
  3. several other possible reasons
lines are blurring too fast, eventually I won't be able to tell I am talking to a program. Once AI can remember what it said last sentence and understand/build on it, it will be harder to tell apart

Looking for a way to send our humidity your way. I can't even use a normal glass these days unless I put a whole pile of napkins between it and the coaster!

Cyclops? Am I remembering my BattleTech/Mechwarrior robots correctly?

I'll pass, but thanks for the thought!

I've been a dry climate boy my whole life, I don't particularly care for humidity. It rained here last night and was humid for about an hour and I was miserable the entire time!

Victor

VTR-9B
1x AC20
2x MLas
1x SRM4

It's not the best Assault mech, but it is fast and has Jump Jets.

I thought i had to change my name on one account to link to another but I kept getting errors. I went into the office today and they wanted to know what error I was getting, and then wanted me to logon to show them. I had my username but not password so I had to do it at home.
They gave me a linking code to put into one account to link to other. They also wanted screenshots of the errors if I could recreate them.

When I got home I redid the process and then realised the first time I had missed one number on the account number when I entered it last week, and as soon as I fixed that it worked right away.
Good. They can pay me the money they owe me now.

I should have checked the numbers last week. I had ignored one digit as I was reading it off a card and there were 3 groups of numbers and my brain just ignored the last group. Really, the form should have thrown an error as I think all numbers in that field are 10 digits long, and I had only entered 9.
Guess it did throw an error but it wasn't obvious what the cause was.

I have to make a 15 to 20 minute long video for unit... joy
I need 2 other people so I use family as usual.
I haven't looked at the script yet, I wonder if mum get away with saying less this time. Generally my brother plays a role that seems to say the most... I have to fill in the gap with my own words. This time I will try to say the most...

My brother has had some parasite in his stomach the last few weeks so not sure when I be able to get him to help. I have a few weeks before unit is due so I won't rush him.

I have been slack and need to play catch up in course this week. But at least now I only have 4 of this weeks questions to complete. I do the old ones in the next few days.
