Cauliflower wings are good.

Cauliflower cheese. Boiled cauliflower covered in an English cheddar cheese sauce with a good spoonful of English Mustard in it baked in the oven, breadcrumbs on top if you have them. Grew up on this stuff on a Sunday with a roast.

Its pretty boring just boiled but I dont mind it as a rice substitute either, too much effort though.
Well, that picture looks good enough. I've never tried English mustard, so I have no idea what the difference would be, but when I look on the store site, I have the options of Colman's "Original", Mrs Bridges "Traditional", Marks and Spencer "Hot", MasterFoods "Hot", Tracklements "Strong". Any of those ring a bell? It looks like it might be somewhat similar to our "spicy brown mustard" or maybe "creole mustard", but I'd rather try the authentic first.
Can't say I've had cauliflower soup, but I do love pretty much all soups, so I'd give it a go. I have a whole load of cauliflower rice I bought at Costco months ago, but haven't even opened it; honestly I'd probably cook it if my kids wouldn't whine about it. But making cauliflower rice in place of actual rice just means I have to make both, so I end-up not bothering.

Have you tried cauliflower buffalo wings? Now those are great and much as I love regular chicken wings, I'd happily never eat them again if I had access to the cauliflower wings instead. But you coat anything and fry it, of course it'll be delicious.
Probably can't go wrong if it has buffalo sauce on it. My wife loves both cauliflower and buffalo wings, so I'll look at some recipes unless you want to give me one.
It's pretty quick and easy with a food processor, though of course not as easy as just opening a bag of rice.

I made this for my wife today, with pico de gallo and guacamole:

It probably took me a bit longer than 20 minutes altogether, but with a food processor it's pretty quick and my wife said it was very tasty.
I'm definitely going to try that. Thanks for linking that site. It looks like they have a lot of decent keto recipes to try.

Haven't made em myself, usually just get them at a restaurant, but if I recall, you can buy them prebattered at the store in the frozen section.

Though, now that you mention it, I may have to give it a go. My kids might even eat it.

So I found myself out of town over night for three nights due to work which means the company buys my meals. Due to some sick joke the only restaurant nearby that had delivery through a service (Door Dash or Uber Eats) was a Cracker Barrel (outside of the fast food standards). So it was steak, loaded mashed potatoes, and coleslaw the first night. Rainbow Trout, loaded baked potato, and coleslaw the second night. Trout wasn't all that good. Last night was grilled chicken, bacon mac and cheese, and coleslaw.

Not exactly what I am used to eating on road trips, but I will say they have great coleslaw. It beats out a lot of the other, better, restaurants coleslaw I've eaten.

Colmans of Norwich is what I always use, Ive tried others and theyve been alright as well. Never tried Spicy brown mustard but English mustard is pretty spicy compared to every other mustard Ive tried and not sweet at all. Not hot by chilli standards, but on the warm side for sure.

Then you have to clean up the food processor, but yea thats easier than grating it by hand.

I like all of those ingredients, one day maybe my kid will as well and I'll be able to make stuff again.

I'm thinking of hotel weekend. Reason: bathtub and tasty breakfast. Maybe watch a couple John Wayne movies in a queen size bed, then jump into the bathtub with only my cowboy hat and a bottle of whisky. I also need to ask hotel service for someone to scrub my back, but probably have to put it gently so they don't misunderstand.

We have a hotel call Drury. It's not an expensive hotel, but the rooms are nice and the beds are great. The best thing, though, is that you get free breakfast and dinner, different foods every day of the week. After dinner, everyone can get two free alcoholic beverages from the bar. They also have a help yourself popcorn machine. And, of course, they have a heated indoor pool and a large hot tub. I stayed there for a week one time just to get out of the house. Just hooked up to the wifi and worked from there. I told my wife we should calculate the cost per year compared to our house, groceries, utilities, cable TV, Internet, homeowners insurance, etc. and just move there.

I have to make some quotes from this gem if I eat there:

The Drury doesn't even have just a continental breakfast. They have that food, but they also have eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits (American), gravy, waffles, and hashbrown casserole.

I just added it up and it would be $11000 more per year to stay there. I could handle that.

love the movie reference at the end of that video :)

That is actually not bad at all. Do you also get free days if you stay for longer through point system? If I stay for 4 days at the hotel I am looking at, I'll get one day for free, but you can't use the accumulated points while you stay you have to use it through another order.

A touch of chef's kiss.

Actually, I didn't think of that. They do have a point system. I also didn't count house maintenance costs, which cost us about $26000 last year because we had to replace every bit of the plumbing, and we just hired someone to do the lawn because of my bad back. And our pool uses hundreds of dollars of chemicals 5 months of the year. I'm beginning to think this would actually save us money.

Also, this is an expensive Drury. We don't have to stay here. We could find a cheaper Drury in another city if we wanted to.

I know there are retirees who sell their home and just live mostly on cruises for the rest of their lives because it's cheaper.

I'm not sure if you can live in a hotel indefinitely, you might have to move around every once in a while as most hotels have a maximum amount of days you can stay.

Not sure about staying indefinitely. For what it's worth, here's what Google's AI says about it. Sounds like we might even get a discount. I think maybe it would be cheaper hotels that might not want people living there, but that's just a guess.

There isn't a set maximum number of days you can stay at a Drury Hotel, as long as you continue to pay for your stay and adhere to the hotel's policies.

Here's a more detailed explanation:

  • No Fixed Limit:
Drury Hotels, like most hotels, don't have a hard limit on how long guests can stay, as long as they are paying for their room and following the hotel's rules.
  • Extended Stay Rates:
Drury Hotels even offer special rates for extended stays of 14 nights or more, indicating that they are happy to accommodate longer stays.
  • Local Regulations:
It's important to note that local regulations regarding residency in hotels may vary, so you should check with the hotel and the local government if you plan on staying for an extended period.
  • Check-Out/Check-In:
Some hotels, especially in areas with regulations regarding residency, may require guests to check out and then check back in to avoid being considered long-term residents.

We'll do this too from time to time, my wife and i. We usually shoot for rooms with a jacuzzi as a basic start. Breakfast/dinner meals come next. We'll stay at a place if its close but doesnt offer any of that. Well spend a couple days just chillin in the jacuzzi and pool areas, take some edibles (not big drinkers/bar users) and chill out. Those are my hotel experiences as of late.

I have a ritual though when getting jacuzzi suites. I have products that clean the jacuzzi and surrounding area. I use them to determine how clean the jets/pipes are before i get in. I start off by running a full fill of the jacuzzi on hot with cleaning supplies and let it drain before i add heavier cleaning supplies (designed for pipe/drain cleaning on jacuzzis). It really works wonders and also shows that some hotels really do keep up with jacuzzi maintenance/cleaning. It surprises me sometimes.

Staying in NYC i thought it was going to suck. But the room we had was clean (i check for bed bugs etc. whenever i go to a hotel) had comfortable beds, it was quiet and the continental breakfast had bagels bigger than my head.

Still not ordered, but since it is for the weekend I'm waiting until the last hours to see if I can get a sweet deal. Normally prices drop, but I could also be unlucky with them being able to cover all rooms. So far I have gotten price down to around 140USD which is not to bad for a respectable four star hotel in central OSLO.

Well that's a first.

I finally built-up an inventory of about 4 upgrades for one of my RC Crawlers, all of which pretty much required a teardown of the front axle housing, so I took the time to do that this morning. Took me about two and a half hours to tear it down, take out everything and install the new stuff and when I took it for a test run, it ended-up snapping an axle shaft.

I guess it's not surprising, given my new motor is more powerful, I installed an overdrive on that particular axle and I put wheel extenders on it today as well. All of it together just found the weakest point and snapped it in half. Thankfully Amazon exists, as I was able to order some new carbon steel shafts for $15, delivered tomorrow, so I can hopefully still take it to a friends house on Saturday.

Replace "RC Crawlers" with just "vehicle" and I'm not sure I would have ever thought you were talking about an RC car.

This is a big reason I'm actually attracted to the hobby grade RC stuff; I'm already a car guy and have a project car (which will hopefully move again this year...) and this is basically that, but scaled down with electric motors in the center of the car, rather than a gasoline engine in the front. It has all the same components, motor > transmission (really more like a transfer case in this instance) > driveshafts > axle housings > axle shafts > hubs/knuckles, bearings, gears, shocks and springs, etc

Aside from snapping the axle, I've done this exact same project on my Jeep. It's just really neat. Pretty cheap as far as hobbies go since I'm in the 24th scale.
