Put the destroyed card in a taped sock with some rocks and throw it in the deep sea somewhere the public doesn't regularly go to. Spray paint the tape so it looks similar to seabed sediments and not even the microorganisms will find it.
I think I'd take the 1 in a bunch chance that someone goes through my garbage and just throw it away rather than driving 12 hours to the coast and renting a boat. That's practically at radioactive waste levels of inconvenience.

Just mail the card back to them or buy some cheap sheet metal cutters at Home Depot or off of Amazon.

I got a replacement credit card a while ago out of the blue. The new card worked just fine. All is a happiness. OK, now it's time to cut up the old one and toss its bits into different trash cans around the.... wait, I can't cut this?? It's made of... sheet metal of some kind!?!? Even the big trimmer I use to cut small limbs from trees wouldn't cut it! The internet says to use something that cuts sheet metal - which I don't have. I called the credit card company and the gal I got seemed to have no idea. She suggested burning it. Uhhh, I haven't got a propane torch. If I had a soldering iron, I could probably melt off the numbers, but I don't. Eeesh!!

Use thermite, then sue the bank when you burn your house down because they told you to burn it.

I can't watch things like that live. I'll watch it when it's over and "fast forward" to each game or wait for an article on PCG.

Do you get love and respect from your family? The cashier at Taco Bell called me "beautiful" and my wife and daughter decided it was due to a combination of alcohol and macular degeneration. :ROFLMAO:

I'm well aware you're all very invested in my laptop saga, so I'll give the people the update their salivating for:

My quest continues using my Surface Go 2 for the week, attempting to convince myself not to scrounge up the money for an X1 Nano. Ultimately, I think I will succeed in my quest, but not convince myself not to spend the money.

I like using this machine occasionally in tablet mode, but ultimately, I hate having to carry around a mouse with me to get the functionality of a Trackpoint. The keyboard is a little small, which isn't terrible, but does often cause me to fat finger keys, which can be kind of annoying.

I'll probably succumb to temptation, but hopefully in the next year in the hope that prices come down just slightly. I could sell my T480s, but I like having even a very basic dedicated GPU, because it allows me to play a few more games.

Through the genius of AI, we now know what I would have looked like if I had been born a girl.

Just went to the gym last night for the first time in like 5 years. Ouch. Not really sure what my goal is, not particularly interested in trying to lose a lot of weight, nor am I interested in trying to become a body builder. I think I just want to be more active. After the treadmill I walked around like a lost puppy trying to figure out what the heck to do next. Luckily there was next to no one there so I didn’t embarrass myself in front of the gym bros. My legs were noodles all night after I got home.

I got invited to a friendly volleyball tournament in 3 weeks. I haven't played in about 8 years or so, so I'll probably regret it the next day.

Last sporting event I took place in was a best ball golf tournament. It wasn't physically demanding, but it was 102 degrees, and I thought someone was going to have to call an ambulance for me on the last two holes. I was literally seeing stars from overheating. I staggered into the pro shop and sat at the bar and drank about 6 cokes and a couple glasses of water. Stayed in there a good hour and got up to walk to the car and felt sick to my stomach the moment I hit the heat in the parking lot. I have to think if I'd been in better shape that the heat wouldn't have gotten to me so badly. I used to play summer baseball in triple digit temperatures and never thought twice about it.

I just want to be more active

Start easy & progress slowly, mistake most make is similar to main dieting mistake—diving in beyond the shallow end. Walk to nearby instead of drive. Do simple exercises at home. Got stairs? Those'll noodle your legs all you want.

The secret is to change behavior to stuff you'll still want to do in a year—not take on a chore you'll drop next month.

I haven't played in about 8 years

My advice is to pass, unless your invite was to be ballboy :)

Volleyball puts big strain on ankles, and you can't really pre-condition those. Landing plus changing direction and angle of stance tug at ankle 'stuff'—muscles, ligaments, tendons etc—every time.

Ankles, knees, shoulders, hands and other 'bony' injuries will usually heal fairly quickly. The one to beware of for long-term discomfort is back injury, especially lower back. Volleyball is one of the most 'twisty' sports, and it's too easy to seriously tear something 'back there' if you haven't been conditioning it for quite a while.

Go along, be ballboy, enjoy the social :)

This is the best advice and many serious body builders will say pretty much exactly this. In a year if I’m still going to the gym at least 3 days a week I will be happy. I’m just wanting to be more active for now, and if I keep it up maybe down the line I will start to take dieting more seriously. If you wanna know how it went for me, I started off by walking a mile on the treadmill at a decently moderate pace, inclined pretty well uphill, and it took me 20 minutes. That alone was enough for my legs to feel like they were gonna give out haha. Slow and steady is absolutely right!

Some idiot truck driver with an oversized load was driving through town and caught onto some wires and drug them a good 500 meters. He didn’t catch onto all of the wires that was up on the electrical poles, but of the ones he did, one was my ISPs broadband line. So I’m without internet at home for probably a few days, depends on how fast they can reattach the wires to the electrical poles and repair any other damages. The wires crisscrossed across the roads, and they are the main roads in this small town, so that’s got to be very hard to do. I drove past the incident on my way back from lunch break, the guy who I suspected was the truck driver looked so disappointed in himself lol. Time to stop playing so many multiplayer games and focus on the story games I got recently.

Internet is back up at the house and I don’t know if I’m making this up, but it seems slightly faster than before. I haven’t done any testing at all, but this morning YouTube was being a lot faster and snappier. I wonder if they used brand new cables and replaced the ones that fell that could have been years, maybe decades old? No idea. No one seems to have said anything of it either so maybe it’s just my imagination. The ISP trucks were out in full force working all through the night to get it all fixed.
