Question City 17. The Free Man. The Gordon Freeman.

Do you think the publishers of video games know some secret prophecy about the fate of the world, and try and filter this down to the public via the storylines, characters and themes explored in their video games?

Take for example Half Life 2 - could the dystopian world of City 17 exist in the real world future.

Who would them be the Combine? What are you interpretations? Is there potential for a real life Gordon Free - Man.

And why haven't Valve released a Half Life 3.

I think it is an interesting conjecture.

Game devs and publishers have to attend a semester on the secret prophecy before they can graduate.

Sadly they're all constrained by a cast-iron NDA even if they leave the industry. I only found out from an ex-GF who talked a lot in her sleep.

There are cosplayers...for sure. Whether they're IRL, I doubt.

And why haven't Valve released a Half Life 3.
Probably because the time's not right.
