Changing from PS4 back to PC

Hi Guys
So I used to be a hardcore PC gamer for six years till 2014 where I switched to PS4 exclusively .
Now Im returning back to PC and its time to build a new one ; I’m currently on a budget and the following spces is what im thinking :
MB : ASUS TUF Gaming X570-Plus
CPU : AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
Ram : 2X8GB Gskill 3600Mhz
SSD 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2 250GB
GPU : RX 5600 XT 6GB
Now I also want your opinion whether to squeeze my last $$ and get the 5700XT for future Proofing or its not worth it , I mainly will use it for 1080 gaming on a 23" inch LCD monitor 60Hz refresh rate

If I could chose anything to replace your current build it would be to add more storage. Bump up to at least 500GB. Everything else looks fine. For 1080p the 5600XT is a great card. No need to get the 5700XT at this time in your particular case.

Just beware when you build your PC and POST for the first time that AMD takes awhile to boot, at least mine did. Also the drivers are still improving for GPU's. Just be patient, AMD has certainly improved over time.

What is your total budget and how expensive is this build so far? How much budget do you have left?

I agree about the storage, 250GB is very limited for gaming. Especially since the last few games I installed and played where at all between 30 and 110GB.
For futureproofing your videocard the main question would be if you plan on upgrading your monitor anytime soon or not.

I would go for at least a 500gb SSD. Possibly a 1tb if your budget allows it. Otherwise go for 500GB and an HDD. When I got my first SSD I installed my OS on it together with the games I played most. The rest I dumped on the HDD.
Also, while the Samsung 970 is a good SSD, you can get cheaper ones.

For 1080p your videocard defeniately is good enough . Apparently it can run games decently at 1440p and 144hz as well.

Also, as far as I remember, the difference between pcie 4.0 and 3.0 wasn't really noticable. Not sure if I remember correctly though, but otherwise you could consider getting a B450 mobo instead of X570 to free up some budget.

Thanks ; yes I agree the SSD needs to be 500GB at least ; I might go with 5700XT as i will most properly upgrade my monitor to a 144Hz one in the future

I agree with @Inspireless Llama that we need to know more information about your budget, and in order to give you the best possible advice it would also be nice to know the full spec of the PC including case and power supply.

Given the information provided though I would say definitely go for a larger SSD (I'd recommend a 1TB drive with how big modern games have gotten), and I agree with the others that the 5600 XT is a great card for 1080p and some 1440p work, but the 5700 XT might be worth it if you plan to upgrade to a 1440p display.

My opinion is absolutely don't get the 5700 XT for 'futureproofing' - it's wasted at 1080p, you'd be paying for performance you wouldn't make use of. And by the time you do make use of it, newer, faster, cheaper graphics cards with new technologies (like actual raytracing support) will be on the market.

As others have said, an RX 5600 XT or RTX 2060 is generously more than enough for a great 1080p gaming experience. Even a 1660 or 1660 Super would do very well.

5700 XT is still a waste tbh. If you were going to buy a 1440p 144hz monitor in the next few months, sure. But it's still overkill for 1080p. A 5600 XT or 5700 non-XT, depending on local pricing, would be a better fit for 1080p.

1080p 144hz might not be a very good investment tbh. You'd be upgrading to that right when 1440p 144hz is starting to go mainstream. If you want a better monitor, probably best save up a bit more for 1440p 144hz, and you'll be happy keeping it for a long time. Even a 5600 XT would do pretty well even at 1440p (my 2060 is fine for 1440p).

While it depends on local pricing, it might be better to:
Go with the 3600 non-x, as performance is virtually identical
Go with a B450 mobo so you don't spend more on the mobo than the CPU
Get a cheaper brand of SSD as performance will be the same for games (Evos are often almost twice the price per GB as other NVMe drives)

And put the money saved into a slightly larger SSD and towards a better monitor.
