Hi

I am in no way a gamer so I know nothing of gaming PC's. My son to be 13 year old son is asking for a gaming pc for his birthday and had been looking at the fierce pc site and has "built" up a package with these specs.

He will mostly want it for Minecraft java and mods, although I expect Fortnite will appear on there and he will probably progress on to other games too.

Specs he's chosen are:
CTI raider RGB tempered glass mid tower gaming case
AMD ryzen 3 2300x 3.5ghz (4ghz turbo) quad core processor
Cooler master hyper TX3 evotower pc cooler
Nvidia geforce gtx 1050 To 4gb graphics card
16gb Corsair vengeance RGB pro 3000mhz ddr4 memory (2x 8gb)
250gb Seagate Barracuda 510 m.2 SSD
1tb Seagate Barracuda harddrive
MSI A320M-A pro max motherboard
Aerofoil integrator 700w 80+ power supply
300mps TP Link WiFi card
Windows 10 home

Please could someone tell me if this is suitable for him.
Thanks in advance from a clueless mum!

This is poor value for £950.

The CPU and GPU are weaker than you should expect for this kind of price.

The monitor is also basic - below the point I'd say makes sense to buy.

As an alternative, picking an option from the system integrator I'm most familiar with, something like this might be more in line with my expectations:

Or something like this:
with an even better graphics card - though probably a worse case, maybe PSU and mobo too. And slow RAM, which is a shame.

plus the monitor and other bits.

The point is, something with an R5 3600 and an RX 570 or better, plus a 24" monitor with freesync, is the ballpark I'd be looking at for this kind of money as a prebuilt or custom built system.

Thank you for taking the time to help me with this, you've been very helpful.

Can I ask what is PSU and mobo please?
