Are you talking about combat? Did you play Minecraft before the combat update? Before the combat update. I almost never died and played for months on a hardcore game before finally getting knocked off of a ledge in the Nether and falling into lava. However, one reason I stopped playing was the combat update. Suddenly I was terrible at it. I was constantly running out of stamina. To be fair, I've only played it a handful of times since that update, and I probably would have gotten a little better, but I felt like it changed the game too much for me.

Yeah, mostly the combat, though a lot of the worlds that were generated were amplified and I took a lot of falling damage as well.

I did play before the combat update and it's definitely harder now. In Blightfall I also avoid combat as much as I can. I did get end-game level armour by pure luck from a loot bag which has helped a ton in keeping me alive, but even then I avoid combat as much as possible. I've probably missed a lot of good loot because I'm too scared of running into enemies.

Can you make a major mistake when naming your game and still be successful? Apparently so. Schedule 1 is not actually what the game is named. The game is named Schedule I (the Roman numeral for 1).

Well, a Google search of "Schedule I" and "Schedule 1" doesn't seem to care. With a "Schedule I" search, the link to the game on Steam is the first result. With a "Schedule 1" search, the link to the game on Steam is the second result (2024 Schedule 1 (Form 1040) is the first in case you're curious).

That tells me there probably isn't a lot of confusion among people looking for the game.

Believe it or not, this has actually changed since yesterday when I was searching for stuff. Yesterday, if I used the numeral, all I got were TikTok videos and government listings.

But the problem isn't with finding the game itself. The problem is when you are looking for something more complicated, like figuring something out in the game.

Maybe it's we have different search profiles that Google considers.

You mean something like "How do I get the door in the alley unlocked" or something? I can't not get any Schedule I related pages with any kind of search that includes either phrasing of the title, so I'm not sure what you mean.

Just give it up already. It wasn't like this when I was searching, but it is now. Something has been updated on Google's side. I should have checked again before I posted.

Googles results are based on your location/search history/profile. So someone who isn't in the USA isn't going to get a schedule 1 form, I just get offered the game regardless of if I search Schedule 1 or Schedule I in quotes.

Its hardly Googles fault, most of the videos titles and articles also have the wrong name. It just shows the results it finds. Now that it does link them shows potential human intervention linking them together in results. I have no idea how Google does it. Undoubtedly something actively has to do this or no links would ever be formed between stories on the same topic.

I spent 11 hours of the last two days watching someone play Blue Prince. He hasn't reached the end yet but its not a game I would play without spoiling it first... lol.. already seen end on another video. Spoilers don't bother me, I don't like surprises.

Seeing end doesn't mean anything, need to get to the right places to even use the knowledge.
There are restrictions to stop you finding everything on one day and each day, the house resets and you have to redraw the rooms again. Rooms aren't always in the same place. You have to get the right combo of rooms to achieve some things.

Some progress points can be saved so you don't have to start from the beginning all the time. You just need to reach them. And know what to do.

I don't know everything yet. (story of life)

Anyway, now have to wait a week for more videos from this guy. As at least he played the demo so isn't going in completely blind, he just hasn't seen past one point.

There are puzzles within puzzles. Rooms can have a puzzle to solve within them, you have to be observant. One room reveals a puzzle that would be hidden if you weren't observant. One guy I normally watch for puzzle games completely missed it.

Sorry I missed the drama, dang. Hopefully cooler heads prevail and both Zed and Ghost return here, cause no one wants to read my inane posting. Pretty sure I just write for my own fulfillment anyway.

This seems intriguing. I've been seeing a bunch of stuff about it on the PC Gamer front page, but haven't bothered to look at it, because...well I dunno. But if it's something akin to Obra Dinn or something, this seems like it could be up my alley; especially the first person exploration/puzzling.

I think I'm kind of done with Cyberpunk for right now. I played around 20-hours in the last two weeks and thoroughly enjoyed myself, but I'm just done listening to people talk and watching cutscenes for right now and need to move on to something else more immediate. Which makes me feel silly, given I did buy Kingdom Come 2 last week for about $65 for the Gold edition, knowing full well I was going to burn out on the style of game before I got around to playing it and it would just make more sense to wait for a better price. But here we are. Still failing at my spending less money this year...

Amusingly, now that I'm feeling done with Cyberpunk, I'm already feeling a bit tired of playing on a normal PC and so I haven't been using my new laptop all that much and instead, picked-up my Steam Deck again. But this is how these things go for me, in cycles where I find myself in the mood for a certain platform or style of play and do that for several weeks before going to a different one.

At any rate, I spent about 3-hours between Friday and Saturday night playing REPO with my buddies and it was a great time. The game is just hilarious and I really do love the proximity voice chat to it, it really lends something to the game when you and all your friends run away from a creature, only to be calling to each other from the next room over and trying to figure out if anyone else is still alive.

I also started Sonic A.I.R., which is kind of a recomplication or reimagining of the original Sonic 3 with Knuckles. I've played a load of Sonic 3 Complete, which is similar, but works on more platforms (given it's just a ROM, unlike A.I.R.) and never A.I.R., so it's nice to do something a little different, even if it's pretty fundamentally the same game. And honestly, I think Sonic 3 with Knuckles is a better game than Sonic Mania. Mania has some interesting levels, but they're mostly rehash, the exploration doesn't feel as good--seems like you're much more often funneled certain directions--and the boss fights are pretty tedious and annoying.

Also, I bought Schedule I (or 1...) over the weekend in a drunken stupor--only a little. I still haven't tried it yet, but I should probably play Blood West a little more before I jump into Schedule 1, given I bought it several weeks earlier and did like what I played, but then haven't gone back to it yet. But Schedule I might be more of what I'm feeling right now, since it looks like it's relatively relaxed gameplay, not needing to really pay attention or be on my toes like I might be in Blood West, sneaking around and trying to take down enemies. We'll see. Nothing has really sparked my interest yet since losing interest in Cyberpunk.

Sad to see those events unfold in real time. Sometimes i think people misunderstand a back-and-forth convo with an argument, esp. when its online and not irl. Hope everyone comes back, its a small community already and i want to see it grow. Nothing terrible was said or done, so hope to see them posting again soon.

I have been taken major chunks out of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered. Really the only thing ive played all weekened, probably all of the last week too since the second season started airing yesterday and wanted to catch up as much as i could. Probably about 3/4ths done? Feels like it anyways. Hopefully ive played enough to not get spoiled in the first episode.

I was fully planning on watching the series w/o having played the second one, but didnt realize it was dropping earlier this month, so i was happily surprised. I have kinda of a personal connection to the game (friend who passed away worked for naughty dog, has a card dedicated to him in the game). So now i can personally collect it since i never had it on a playstation.

Im loving the game too btw. Maybe not as good as the first, but its still really good in its own way. PCG gave it a 60/100 which i think is really too low. Its not 9 or 10/10 as the first but its still a very well-produced game. I have 0 issues with framerates and stuff. Im not a big fan of QTE's which this game has in spades and exploration is kinda limited (which makes sense though for the games narrative tbh) but its an 8/10 bordering on 9 so far.

Welcome back @ZedClampet. Nobody got any warnings, but the drama was cut down on.

Sorry I missed the drama, dang. Hopefully cooler heads prevail and both Zed and Ghost return here, cause no one wants to read my inane posting.
Now you got one more to read the postings

This might be helpful to you if you try to mod a Unity game.

Had a nightmare trying to get a simple mod for Schedule I to work. The modder said to use MelonLoader, so I searched Nexus for a Schedule I version of MelonLoader and downloaded it. The MelonLoader creator said that you had to run the "Mono" version of the game. so I changed my game in Steam properties to the mono version. I installed everything and added the mod, but it didn't work.

Finally, I checked the log that MelonLoader created and found that the mod I was using wasn't actually for the mono version of the game, but for the IL2Cpp version of the game. I did a Google search for MelonLoader and found that there was a universal version of MelonLoader that you can download from its own site or Github, and this version handles both mono and IL2Cpp Unity games. Switching back from mono and installing this and the mod worked.

Most games won't have both an IL2Cpp and a mono version, so it shouldn't be a frequent problem, but I think it was worth pointing out that there is now a universal MelonLoader that will be the first step you need to take any time you want to modify a game made in Unity. The website, which includes a one-click installer (easier than Github) is right here.

I'm almost done with Blightfall, the Minecraft modpack I've been playing. The Dawn Machine is slowly clearing the entire world of taint, I just have to make sure it doesn't run out of resources.

My initial set-up couldn't quite keep up, so I expanded it a bit and built up a buffer before trying again and it's going a lot better now. The only problem is that it's not fully automated, so I have to babysit it until it's done.

I might not interact much with your posts, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy reading them.

This is why I often just don't bother with modding games. I don't have enough free gaming time to spend it trying to make mods work.

Though the Steam Workshop does make it a lot easier as I can subscribe to mods through a browser, so I can add mods when I don't have access to my PC.

You aren't a native English speaker. I'm just curious if you know there's an alternate definition for that last word? You are extremely fluent in English, so I assume that you do, but it's a slang, borderline NSFW usage. There's nothing wrong with what you wrote. It's a very common word, and that's what the mod calls the corruption. You just don't hear it used as a noun very often unless someone is using the dumb definition. I'm basically just curious if your mastery of the English language includes the Urban Dictionary versions of words. :ROFLMAO:

I think I'd do pretty well on an Urban Dictionary quiz, at least compared to the average native English speaker.

I’ve been really sick these past few days, better now. I had some bad food poisoning and all the grossness that came with that. I barely played any games, was too sick to do anything but lay in bed.

Before getting sick, I had a very nice Sunday evening. I grilled some delicious chicken, drank a few beers, did some gardening, enjoyed the sun. I was in a great mood. Decided to play some games to end off the night. I landed on Far Cry 6 since it’s an easy and quite relaxing game to play and I love exploring its beautiful world. About 30 minutes into it, I was in a great mood, feeling good and having fun, when all of the sudden my entire chair just broke with a loud bang. The plastic arms that acted as a frame for the backrest snapped off the bottom seat. I nearly fell out the chair onto the ground but caught myself. There went my whole evening.

I then proceeded to spend an hour scouring Walmart and Amazon for chairs. I didn’t want to spend hundreds of dollars so I looked at pretty basic office chairs. I landed on a Serta branded one, because I felt in my mind it may be higher quality than a random Chinese brand with an unpronounceable name, and it just came in yesterday afternoon. Assembly wasn’t hard at all, took me less than 30 minutes. I’m quite pleased with this chair: it’s sturdy, comfortable, has good back support, and adjustable arm rests. For cheaper chairs, adjustable armrests seems to have gone out in favor of static arm rests. All of this for $100 is nothing to complain about.

As for actual gaming, all I’ve been able to play lately is Luck Be A Landlord on my phone. I’ve had this in my Steam wishlist for a while but never went for it. I decided to give it a go because I was wanting an easy phone game to play in quick bursts that doesn't have any time commitments. I can pick up and play in as little as 30 seconds if I wanted to. I ended up playing it for a few hours over the past two days, it's fantastic! I believe the creator of Balatro credited this game as a big source of inspiration and I can see it. The main gist is you have to roll a slot machine to make money, adding new symbols that do different things each turn. Some symbols interact with each other to give big bonuses. There is a lot of RNG but you can make things slightly better by deleting symbols, but it is never guaranteed where anything will land, and you have a very limited amount of deletes. It's a great casual roguelike slot machine game, and I think it works perfectly for mobile, more so than Balatro. Less finger movements, simpler to understand as well.
