Your favorite gaming / hardware videos on youtube

Hey guys,

I'm not sure if I should post this here, or general hardware or general gaming, but since it's basically movies / TV I decided to do it here. I didn't see a topic about it yet either, but I'm wondering what gaming / hardware videos you really liked or you thought were really good?

Personally I watch a lot of Linus Tech Tips, I think it's fun and often educational too. The more serious videos at least. I also watch unboxing / review videos from time to time, but more to get a more realistic look how things look when put in a PC.
I also watch "how to build pc's". Not because I necessarily need them, but because I find it interesting how other people build in cases that differ from mine.

Also I often enjoyed "Skyrim mods of the week".

Videos I'm not that interested in are like "the 10 fastest GPU's" or "The weirdest things for in a PC". Typical videos that I never watch or will quit watching are the ones were people are talking about some topic while playing some random game. I can't stand that.

I'll post a few of my favorite videos now.

From Gamer Nexus I found this video because I never knew what was meant when reviewers were talking about a 1% low and 0.1% low. I think they explained it really well. Also because they said a GPU that has a lower average FPS might be better than a higher FPS, if the lows are higher.

Another one from Linus Tech Tips is the video about why you shouldn't neccessarily need a watercooler:

Then this is weird stuff but I found this video really fun to watch:

Linus is cool and of course I watch some of his videos.

I watch quite a lot of gaming related content of course and I especially like the long analytical kind. Some examples below.

Seeing somebody discovering for the first time an old classic titles is one of the "joys" - but seeing them immersed and then analyze them is the other. Chris does that quite well and even tho I don't always agree with him, he makes fair points in discussing for example how these old Infinity Engine games can be a bit archaic for modern gamer.

Other general channel with some thoughtful content is Indigo Gaming

And of course our lord Mandalore (if he forgets his meds, then we have another kind of delith in form of Sseth)

N.S. usually covers "death of a game" for MMOs, but sometimes he puts his detective skills to work on different genres:

More tech-wise, Digital Foundry and their videos that go in depth about game engines, different techniques, technologies or tricks for all these "smoke & mirrors" stuff that games do all the time.

Documentaries? Look no further than GVMERS - whenever these guys put a new video out it's a celebration day.

For FPS/retro FPS these two guys rules:

These are not all of course, I didn't include Super Bunnyhop for example or channels covering stuff on the edge of hardware/software like malware analytics.

Linus is fun to watch and their projects are often hilarious. I particularly love their Scrapyard Wars series, but if you're serious about tech reviews their videos often fall way short of giving you an actual in-depth look at a product.

Digital Foundry really is the be all, end all of gaming tech content. You're not a real PC gamer if you've never heard of things like 'anti-aliasing', 'anisotropic filtering' or 'variable refresh rate'. Digital Foundry is a must. Their discussions about the underlying tech of new games always gets me hyped.

In terms of what I like to watch, particularly tech-related, I think Bitwit is great and very funny! His puns are great and the vids are usually both very informative and entertaining.

A couple I watch from time to time:

Please stop, I only have so much time in a single day ;D
And some of those videos are about my favourite games of all time and I HAVE to watch them (pressed play on The ultimate crpg guide and as it started with Fallout footage my heart skipped a beat)
Thank you for filling up my Watch Later library.

I like Linus Tech Tips videos for various tips and pieces of advice and Angry Joe Show for the reviews. I usually download them to my phone to watch or listen to later while I’m going home from work.
