I live on the oregon coast and the humidity is regularly 100%. I read that humidity can corrode metal parts in the pc.
Most American central air systems dehumidify the air during hot days, and heat naturally dehumidifies the air. You may want to get a hygrometer to see if you really need to be running a dehumidifier. If you run it when you don't need to you can ruin things like carpet or cause yourself to have sinus problems. I would guess the times when you would need it most would be when you don't need either heat or air, but I don't live where you do, so maybe you need it all the time.I live on the oregon coast and the humidity is regularly 100%.
