whats the oldest piece of tech you're using?

For the last 19 years i have been using a logitec g5 mouse but today the left mouse button had got so thin with wear and tear that my finger went through it .... R.I.P. old friend.

I have replaced it with a steelseries rival 3 but i think it might be faulty because it keeps freezing on web pages and i have to plug in my old g5 to do shut down.
Seems like it's not working properly but can't really say what the problem is from that description.

Can't say I have really old gear in use. Oldest one is my laptop which is from 2017. I don't really remember hanging on to older gear a lot. I think the one I kept for longest were a couple of inexpensive speakers, which I may have had for 15 years or so.

I don't know exactly how old it is, but the hard disk drive I have as a miscellaneous storage drive is the oldest piece of hardware I am using in my current setup. I know it's at least 10 years old, but may be closer to 15.
Everything else in my setup is 5 years or less.

I think most of the components in my PC are about 8 years old. The SSD might be a bit older than that, but I'm not sure how old it would be. Everything else is newer.

Though I do have a handmixer from the 70s, maybe 80s, so around 40 to 50 years old.

EDIT: I almost forgot, but I do also still have two GameCube controllers, those are probably at least 15 years old. Though nowadays I use an emulator and use my wireless Xbox controllers most of the time.

UPDATE .... Just got a refund on the new steel series rival 3 , the first time i used it , it took several minutes for pc to get to desktop instead of 10 seconds. The rival 3 mouse pointer just kept freezing on web and in games and i had to plug in a spare mouse so i could shut down instead of holding power button.

If anyone can recommend a good gaming mouse for around £45 i would be grateful

@mjs warlord If you can get it on sale (I bought it for around £40-45), I can recommend the Logitech G Pro Wireless. It has amazing battery life and overall good quality. Had it for three years now and after using it for several hours each day, I have not had any problems with it. I also use very little LED light on it, so I have to charge it once every 1-2 weeks depending on how many hours each day I use it. The charge time is around 1 hour, so pretty fast considering how much usage you get.

My oldest tec that is still working is my Atari 520ST from 1985.

12 year old Logitech Z906 Speakers

they replaced my previously oldest part of gear which was my Logitech Z5500 speakers

I wish I was this guy
Its not a fair question, Z5500 were better.

If I didn't have the speakers, I wouldn't be contemplating getting a sound card for next pc.

Desktop gaming dacs are only built to connect to headphones (and they might struggle with one set I have) not speakers. I feel like I am being forced to stop using my speakers even though they work fine.

Oldest piece of hardware I own was made in November 1965 but its not exactly operational as the computer its part of was destroyed before I got the part. It was used to track the Apollo Missions. You couldn't do a lot with it by itself. I wouldn't know where to begin.

Oldest part of current PC is only 5 years old. Most of it is under 3 years of age.

My oldest piece of hardware is a 1TB external drive that I use for secondary backups. It's only about 6 years old though and my main backup drive is now a 2TB crucial external nvme.

I'm using a Logitech G502 Hero mouse and you can pick them up for £35 on amazon. For a wired mouse it's fantastic and always get's good reviews.

If you want a wireless mouse then the Logitech G305 Lightspeed is £40 on amazon. It has only 6 programmable buttons compared to the G502's 11 and lacks RGB. It also run's on a single AA battery rather than being rechargeable.

My first speakers on PC were a set of Creative 2.1 (I then won the 5.1 set in a competition and never looked back).
I have older furniture that used to hold PC up, than I do any hardware. Think I have used the same box for different purposes for about 25 years now.
Hardware changes, room stays the same.
