What studios would you like to see here?

Hi folks, it's your friendly 'follow spot operator' Stevie,

Now that our first cycle of Studio Spotlights is done, we're on the hunt for new indie studios to spotlight! If there is any studio in particular you'd love to hear from, drop a link to them in this thread!

Obviously we can't ensure they'll get a spot in round two, but let us know who you'd like to see talk about their behind the scenes, run AMA's and do giveaways. :)

Talk to you soon!

Stevie

Are there some particular requirements which make the studio an indie one? Can it be famous and present on the stock exchange (but not under the wings of a big publisher) or are we talking only about smaller and relatively new studios?

I have a few propositions:

Studio ZA/UM: https://zaumstudio.com/
Anshar Studios: https://ansharstudios.com/
Gamera Interactive: http://www.gamerainteractive.it/

I hope that at least one qualifies. :)

Netcore Games - A two'ish-man indie company, that has produced and still updates the mind-blowingly good RPG game: Tales of Maj'Eyal (50%off on Steam as I write this)

Ghost Ship Games - A danish indie company founded in 2016. They have made Deep Rock Galactic (25% off on Steam) which is a co-op fps game where you play as dwarf mining for resources and battling monsters in underground procedurally-generated caves. Very fun game to play with friends or solo if you so like.

It's the first time I've heard about the game. I'm tempted to buy it after your recommendation. It's extremely cheap and has very good reviews. When I look at the gameplays it reminds me of Stoneshard.

@Sarafan One thing you can do before buying/donating is to get it for free at https://te4.org/ (the homepage) You will not get the explorer mode (infinite lives), item vault, etc, that you can get with Steam version, but you can at least test the game out before investing your money and see if it is to your liking. It got quite the steep learning curve (you will die A LOT), but when you get into the mechanics and flow of the game, I think you will enjoy it.

Thanks for the tip. :) I'll try the free version and see if I like it. If I do, I'll get the paid version with DLCs.

I think Larian is getting plenty of attention right now!

Warhorse and Owlcat both sound interesting to me, even though I didn't finish Kingdom Come and panned Pathfinder:Kingmaker. (How did Owlcat get so into owlbears, of all things!?)

The one I would most like to hear from is Egosoft. I really enjoy their games a ton but they are marching to the beat of a very different drum - possibly some bongos hidden in the Black Forest?

Stardock would be another from the long time indie crowd I would be curious about. Star Control Origins seems to have wrapped up and Gal Civ 3 seems to be close to wrapping up, so maybe they can taunt us with what's next?

I would also like to see you trick Kerberos and Paradox into a couple of rooms where they can talk to each other but not actually make physical contact. Then lock them in until they come to some sort of agreement to make a Sword of the Stars 3. (Failing that, lock Kerberos in with Stardock until they can make Spetum of the Stars 1.) Yeah yeah, kidnapping is illegal, blah blah. Don't worry about it. Once the jury finds out why you were doing it, they'll let you go. Assuming you get a jury with taste, of course. ;)
