Hello! My friend has a prebuilt PC with a Asus Z97-K motherboard and Intel i7-4790K. He randomly got this message and it keeps shutting down after 15 seconds. We called a PC repair place near me and they said he most likely will need a new motherboard. Any thoughts? Also, if he does need a new motherboard, until he has money is there any way to transfer his SSD's to my PC so he can access his programs?

Hey Sam, still on the lam?

A search for the error message throws up a bunch of results. Here's one from Auslogics, which is a reputable site.

Scaning a couple of the others, faulty front-side USB ports seem to #1 culprit, so don't use those as a first step—ie use the back-side ones.

Hopefully the search results will fix it, so it won't come to needing new hardware. Another hope is that an expert can comment on your question. The only ways I can think of which should work are 'dual boot' and a 'virtual machine'. Both are a bit tricky to setup, but doable by carefully following good instructions from a reputable site.

If you're both using Win10, this MS thread might help.
