US Supreme Court Rules Trump Tariffs Unconstitutional (prices dropping on game tech in US?)

in the grand scheme of things, i think AI has been the driving force for the increased price hikes. if you thought prices were bad in the US, they're worse in Europe.

But fingers crossed that the prices will drop sooner/fast and PC gamers can get back to their hobbies.

Yeah, I don't think we'll be seeing dramatically reduced prices. Especially because companies now know people will pay what the current asking price is.

I was just looking up a Samsung 2Tb SSD I bought back in like April. I paid $119 in April and now Amazon wants $399; I very much doubt we'll see that come down.

Not dramatically reduced, but reduced. Companies can be as greedy as they like, but as soon as one, just one, lets go and races for the pot of gold that comes with having the lowest price, others will panic and follow. That's the way it has always worked, and I don't expect it will change now.

They were reinstated 4 hours later using another law, that the Supreme Court had mentioned in a dissent as being one they could have used.

Note: Tariffs have no effect on me, I just thought I show the follow up

Besides the fact some tariffs have been reinstated, the above statement was wrong. Normally it would have been correct, but currently companies can't get what they need to make products, so scarcity will continue to keep prices rising.

The price of anything is worse in europe for americans. The dollar is worth less lol. I like being close to canada tho. I can go there and buy electronics cheaper.

For me, its just another reason to rally against him. I think that the US collected 175 billion in revenue since they were first introduced yet nothing around us has gone down in price in any industry and we havent received any checks like this guy said we'd get and trust me, i didnt believe him at all then.

This 10% only lasts for 150-days however, so the instability and unpredictability continues.

At least it's only supposed to be 150-days, but as Americans, we're not huge fans of following laws and precedent these days.
