Upgrading power supply

So im upgrading my gpu and in the process the psu. Ivd never built a pc and other than ram this is the first upgrade im doing. I changed all the cables. Reconnected the new ones i think correctly. Is there a way to make sure i did it right? Or is it if it turns on and all the fans turn on im sitting pretty? I wanted to make sure before going forward with the gpu.

As long as you havent forced anything into a socket it wasnt supposed to go into, which would be hard to do, then just double check theyre all seated well and fire it up. If it doesnt go check you havent missed anything, and also check you clicked the main power switch on at the wall and on the back of the PSU.
