I'm looking to upgrade my PC due to a PCI failure in my motherboard. I'm not super PC savvy so I have a few questions which I apologise if they seem obvious.
Currently I play PUBG which I am aware requires a bit of CPU power to work well. I have a i7-7700 right now and a GTX 1070 (plus SSD and 8GB RAM). I don't have budget to upgrade my graphics card at the moment so I am looking at only changing the CPU and motherboard (due to the PCI failure I mentioned).
- Can I purchase an AMD setup and more or less plug and play (maybe some drivers need installing?)
- Will my 1070 work in an AMD motherboard?
I am looking at this combo:
AMD Zen3 5800X and MSI MPG B550
I don't know much about this combo other than its branded at gaming. Happy to hear other options.
Many thanks
