Upgrading Help

Hi everyone, I've had an HP Omen 870-120 for the past five years or so and have slowly but surely been throwing parts at it, last summer I went from a 1080 to a 3060 which has been amazing. The issue is now my little i5 is constantly bottlenecked and seems like it can't keep up on some games (Constantly at 100% while everything else is fine). I'm looking to upgrade to an i7 but my cipset is only a 100 series. My biggest question is if I stay with the current motherboard, will swapping to a 100 series i7 be worth it? If not what motherboards for my application are decent that don't break the bank? (I belive its a MicroATX motherboard)

USA and hoping around 150 max on the motherboard, not sure if thats reasonable or not. The CPU I’m willing to spend a bit more on if I don’t have to change the motherboard
