Four went too far.
I used to feel this way when it was new. Superheroes in a game that started off about territorial gang warfare? I thought it had gone too far as well. But over time I have started to appreciate for the same reasons I appreciate 3, it’s just big dumb fun. Zipping around the city faster than a fighter jet and jumping on top of skyscrapers was too much fun to not return to the game again. Highly recommend to check it out again.

Eh, I've tried to get into it twice now, and it just isn't clicking with me. Got too many other games I need to try.

What if the cake wasn't a lie?
It wasn't. You saw it in the last scene! Just because you didn't get any doesn't mean it didn't exist.
Never played Saints Row 1 or 2.
2 was pretty good. It's a mix of absurd and serious.

In my head cannon, the Boss never really woke up from the coma mentioned at the start of 2. It was all imagined in the Boss's messed up brain. As time went on, the games became crazier as the Boss's brain deteriorated.

What if you were a video game character and got killed? What loot would you drop. Be as literal, metaphorical, or silly as you want. Just let it say something about you as a person.

I'd drop a leather jacket, a Nightmare before Christmas scarf, a cheap pair of +1.75 reader glasses, a random book about pianos, a random tarot deck, a purple pen, a November 2013 issue of Maxim magazine, and a Gamestop membership card that's still has pro status even though I haven't bought anything from them in 3 years.

An unmarked key card, half a bag of nuts, a laptop with an empty battery and no charger, bespoke leather shoes, half a loaf of bread and a jar of peanut butter.

What if.....

-Nintendo made their own emulator for pc and started selling their games to pc users

-Sega made another console.... a handheld one

-Breath of Fire was released on PC

-FF6 got a sequel

-We got a new Jedi Knight, and a proper X wing/Tie Fighter game

-Knights of The OId Republic got a new game.... and it played like Mass Effect.... with coop

-Someone on here from the forums bought me the new Star Wars game..... yeah I snuck it in there.

They'd probably make a buttload of money.

It would probably make a buttload of money.
-FF6 got a sequel

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's called starwars the old republic, it's an mmo, but you can have a group of four friends and basically play the game as a small group. The way the story mechanics work as a group the story choices are chosen and it's very well done

That game isn't even close to what I said and it's not well done. It's an mmo...... meh....

Have you played it? It's not really any thing like an mmo, the game plays out in 4 man co-op story missions people refer to it as Kator 3 all the time. It has 8 stories one for each class each as big as kator. It's way better game play and the stories and how they co-op works is far better than kator as well. Besides galaxies was the best starwars game of that era anyway

What if I made a game and it made me a billionaire?🤔
You'd discover that I'm your long lost relative you would have pity for but not actually want to be a round so you'd set me up with a million dollar a year stipend so you'd never have to deal with me again. Yeah, that's sounds about right.

Though in truth you'd probably discover a lot of "long lost relatives".

What if ...... some sort of legislation was brought into the gaming industry to stop companies releasing sub standard games and by that i mean no alpha , pre-alpha , early access and experimental versions of a game.

It would be great if a games company could be fined for releasing such products based on the number of complaints made and faults found.

We would then be able to go back to the good old days like when you could only buy a game on a disc , way back then a game had to be " finished " and as bug free as possible otherwise loads of gamers would be going back to a shop for a refund.

What if Gears of War E-Day, which is being made on UE 5, turns out to be THE pinnacle of performance on UE 5, despite the game being a prequel involving the collapse of a large scale city when Emergence first happens? And what if without Ferguson it's written so well that it is massively successful to the point of warranting Coalition doing full on PC remakes of GoW 2, 3, and even 1?

This is my hope anyway, be it unlikely or not. What makes me think it's possible is Gow 4 and Gears 5 were done on UE 4, which has been known to have performance issues on many games, but those titles ran pretty well. It's probably more likely to have performance issues on UE 5, but hopefully enough has been learned about it by now that E-Day will come off smoothly.

I happen to love GoW, and thought GoW 4 and Gears 5 were a bit unfairly bashed. I was actually more upset that the GoW Ultimate Edition for W10 was never given what I would call an adequate remaster, as it had a game breaking bug where you couldn't even play it all the way through due to still being tied to Games for Windows LIVE, which was defunct by then!

Despite some glaring mistakes, it's still a great franchise, and I for one think it deserves all of the above to keep it going. It is said (according to Ferguson), Coalition wants to use Gears 6 as a platform for future Gears titles. So I'm hoping for great things from E-Day and 6! I also think time is right to do an E-Day prequel first, since the tech they have now finally makes it possible.

Here's the Gears of War E-Day announce trailer if you haven't seen it. Since this is during the time of the first emergence, it's said there won't be any Lancers. Will we split heads with, a fire axe maybe, or just use a bayonet as shown?
