Superbowl 2026 Halftime Performance

Did many of you watch the superbowl this year?

I know alot of people only watch the halftime performance so I'll talk about that as everyone has seen it.

In my opinion, I think it was the worst Super Bowl yet. I thought last years "kenrick lamarr" (rapper) was the worst one yet but this one takes the crown. Super Bowl is supposed to be the most American thing, yet he did not speak a word of English. Its not the singers fault, but why would the NFL book a singer that doesnt speak a word of english. So most Americans did not understand.

Plus, Lady Gaga was singing "die with a smile", which is a good song, but they changed it to Mexican style music, which did not work. So that part just sounded off beat.

The Super Bowl halftime show has gotten worse and worse over the years. I wonder who they will book next year

I don't particularly care about football or the halftime show. I did watch it, as I have in many years past.

It was pretty good. One of the better ones in recent memory, I didn't feel like it was exclusively pandering to nostalgia as most of them in the past several years have. I liked the theming of the large grasses and the little slices of life we saw as the singer moved through the various areas.

I don't speak Spanish, at all and yet I enjoyed it. But of course, I listen to a lot of music where the lyrics are either indecipherable or in other languages; turns out, music can be enjoyable even when you don't understand it, as much of the world has experienced when America still projected soft power and the world was singing our pop songs in English, even when they didn't understand.

As for being the most American thing, what dictates that? I look around and I see a lot of my neighbors speaking Spanish. They work on their cars like I do, go to work like the rest of us, pay their bills, shovel their walks and try to be conscientious neighbors. We all shop at the Korean market, the Hispanic market, Kroger, we all take our kids to the same playgrounds, etc. Seems pretty American to me.

I've never liked any Super Bowl halftime.

Put a small, round floor out in the middle of the field. Band plays 1 song facing press boxes, 1 song toward an end zone, 2 more towards the opposite of the press boxes, 1 more toward the other end zone, and a big(ish) finale toward the press boxes again. Note: plenty of room to the sides for players to come out and start getting warmed up!

In my opinion, I think it was the worst Super Bowl yet.
