Exhausted from seeing the same winter-themed games always recommended, like the beginning of RDR2, Snowrunner or Frostpunk, I decided to make a small list of some games that rarely get mentioned in this category.

One of the most beautiful games out there, and you may already have it at Epic since it was one of the free giveaways. There are at least 2 cold weather maps, one of which is in Alaska, which are available via DLC purchase. I also highly recommend getting one of the hunting dog DLC, as these help you find your kills (after you shoot them poorly and they wander off to die elsewhere)

Praey for the Gods on Steam

Quick, exciting bursts of gameplay that doesn't take itself too seriously. besides riffing on Die hard, there are a lot of offices, science laps and even hellscapes awaiting in nakatomi plaza. its kinda a wacky fun house as one floor maybe an office, the next is a sewer or a secret sleep lab.
or perhaps its just an art gallery where the hell demon terrorists are waiting to ambush rudy nrowdy.

Starting to snow here in AR. I was going to make a new thread but then I saw this.

Looks like I’ll be having a snow day tomorrow, and weirdly enough I enjoy playing snowy/wintery games when I’m bundled up inside the house. I recently found out you can get free beta access to the next Descenders game, Descenders Next. The main thing being it swaps out BMX and mountain bikes for snowboards. I only played for about 20 minutes last week but I may dive a bit deeper into it over the weekend. The handling is great even for beta, I was just a bit confused on what to do. It’s structured the same as the first game where you complete procgen’d levels and work your way towards a final mission before moving to the next World (for lack of better term). It’s also semi roguelite as you can only bail so many times before the run ends, but you collect unlockables along the way. I’ll give it a better shot this weekend, I’m definitely excited for the full game.
