Announcement Show us your best gaming clips!

Hey all! I just wanted to sound an alert for a new feature on our site: PC Gamer Clips!

Clips is our new home for funny, amazing, and weird gaming videos submitted by our audience. It's easy to submit a clip: just record yourself gaming and save a clip under 10GB in size. Then use our handy clip submission form to send it to us. PC Gamer's editors will review all the clips sent and will share their favorites on our Clips page and social channels, will full attribution to you (unless you wish to remain anonymous).

To sweeten the pot, each month our editors will choose their favorite clip and award a prize: a Steam gift card worth $100! Please note, you must be a US or UK resident to be eligible for this prize: here's the complete terms and conditions you'll need to agree to before submitting a clip.

So, while you're playing your favorite games, don't forget to hit the record button! We'd love to see your skillful showcases, your scariest sessions, your funniest fumbles, your glitchiest games, and other categories two words long that start with the same letter. You can head to our Clips page right now and see what we've collected there so far!

Egosoft is showing screenshots that way. Throwing in music and dramatic panning helps, but I would really like to just see the shots.

Phones have ruined videos because people didn't do the logical thing and turn them landscape to make videos. How this happened is beyond me. We'd already been watching movies for 100 years. But no, we just make videos with this little vertical slice of reality. So if I upload a video, it's just going to cut off 2/3 of the screen?

Maybe. I guess we'll just have to see what the winner videos look like. Are they full screen? Are they vertical slices? Are they vertical slices where somebody who understands such things pans the camera around some to make it look better?

In order to pan the camera around, you would have to realize that something cool/funny was about to happen. Most of the time, the best stuff happens when you don't expect it.
