So I have a set of these

Amazed you can still buy them.

Anyway, since my PC doesn't have the right analog outputs, I run them using spdif

Now every day I turn them on I have to click the effects button on my remote for it to output sound through rear speakers, otherwise its just stereo out of front ones. Since its a setting on the actual unit, and not windows, I can't save that anywhere. Leaving speakers on doesn't work as they auto turn off after a few hours.

But if I turn unit off and on again, it remembers settings... think I need to watch this more.

It never happened on analog on my last PC.

The speakers themselves are about 10 years old. Approx, I remember buying them in a store, but I don't know exact year it was. So its possible they starting to glitch out. My last two sets of speakers lasted me 25 years. One was a prize so really, I only paid once in that time.

Not sure I would replace them if they stopped working. I do have alternatives now.
