The previous model to one I want is 200 less now, in anticipation of the next one... I just have to wait. I hope its price is similar to what last one was here - $2400

Gives Asus time to talk to AMD about fact the program for monitor doesn't currently work with the new AMD GPU drivers. One of them needs to sort it out before I get mine. I only know of the problem as Anort has an Asus Monitor. Without software it greatly reduces monitors functions, windows doesn't see it as HDR and limited refresh rate to 100.

delays in delivery sucks. Did you know it was a pre order when you paid for it? ram sticks I bought last year on belief website actually had them turned out to be out of stock... and they said it could be a few weeks. Don't have things listed as in stock if you don't have them. I cancelled that order and got money back, but well, ram is more necessary to a new PC than a monitor so not sure what I would do.

When I first looked it was in the warehouse but because I ummed and ahhed a few days it went from 2-5 days to late Jan early Feb when I ordered 9.1. I checked a couple days ago and it now changed for 25 Feb.

I can wait, like I said I keep an eye at the stores and if anything good for similar money comes up I can still cancel.

I forgot it was Samsung panel. The only non Samsung screen I have bought since I started buying them was the current LG. I have lost count of how many Samsung ones I had. It will be the 2nd 4k monitor from them, but unlike the last one, I am ready for it this time.

Seems a shop has them here already. I wait a while... wait for more shops to get it.

ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM Review

Im a little worried about mine going up in resolution with my current card, especially seeing as its probably going to be a while until I can get a decent GPU performance increase for a price I'm willing to pay 4k wasnt an option for me.

Also hoping that having to baby the OLED screen isnt going to be too annoying vs the benefits. Current monitor actually cost me more than this one when I got it, and is still as good as new, I have doubts the OLED will still be perfect in 6 years. Can buy something with similar specs for about €200 now so resale isnt going to be a lot but I have a couple of people who might take it and it'll be going to a good home.

That is the Gen 1 version (date of article shows it was from 2024)
Gen 2 is PG32UCDMR (released last year)
3rd gen is PG32UCDM3 (Released this month) - main difference is its less effected by glare and can produce darker blacks, compared to last 2 gen. And screen more resistant to accidental scratches. People scratched the previous gens just taking out of the box

My next GPU doesn't exist yet and may not be released until 2028. Upscaling and other tricks of screens can mean you don't notice the gpu struggling. Windows runs 4k monitors at 150% scale so really the desktop will feel the same as this does now... though with less VA smearing which I won't miss at all.

The 3 different models is something I have to watch for when picking as Google search shows all 3 when I look now.

burn in is a thing, but most new panels have ways to reduce it.

Yea apparently the Alienware I have on order has to cycle every 4 hours and will give a warning. I think it also will do it when it detects its on idle. Ive already hidden my task bar, guess I'll also hide desktop icons when the time comes, wish there was a keyboard shortcut for that but I'll get over it.

One thing I'm also not too sure about is text clarity. If it bothers too much I guess I'll just have to send it back or get something with a newer panel. Its a first gen panel (or 2nd depending on which review you read) so it might be a little worse than the newest ones.

The new controller came. Really happy with its feel, heavy and well built. Time will tell if its durable but first impressions fantastic.

Only thing is I would really like it to have a replaceable battery pack like the Pro 2 I have. One day its either gonna be Ifixit or Ewaste which is a shame.
