@neogunhero if you saw the post I made that I then deleted, I looked more closely at the product and realized the positive reviews are fake. Other similar products by the same company have very poor reviews, so I would have to look around. I'm sure someone makes a good one. It was a $100 windowless air conditioner, kind of like a space heater.

It would seem there aren't enough 9070/XT in stock, that is why prices are high on what is available
Its not easy to get either Nvidia or AMD current gen cards at stock value
Unless you have Amazon. Maybe they are more expensive in Australia, but I can get Nvidia's relevant cards at stock prices right now. Meanwhile the 9070XT is sitting at $850. It's actually more expensive than the 5070 ti.

My local Walmart has window units on sale since we're getting closer towards fall. They're not very strong for the size of my living room, but at $120 I could make it work by placing a standing fan in front of it to help push the air around. That's basically what we did all summer, though the AC that failed us was probably a good 10-15 years old, a newer one will surely work better and use less electricity. I'm still debating if it's worth it or not, because in just a month or so we'll have to take them out the window anyways.

Actually I lied, I must have seen them cheaper at Home Depot. Though Walmart does have Midea brand ACs, maybe the power of Shaq will help cool my home faster.

Hold on. I'm having a Mandela effect moment. I could have sworn I saw Shaq in a Midea commercial and thought how weird it was that he's in commercials for everything including ACs. I can't find any information on it at all. When I look up his name and "air conditioning commercial" or "Midea", nothing shows up. I go to Midea's website and all I can see is Erling Haaland. My brain is melting wtf.

Shaq is currently the head (President) of basketball operations at Reebok, so he may not be making as many commercials for other companies anymore. There's a show on Netflix I've been watching that has been following him around while he works. It's actually pretty interesting. He's a pretty smart guy.

I asked CoPilot if Shaq had ever done commercials for Midea, and it said that he hadn't and asked me if I'd like help drafting a Shaq/Midea commercial concept. :ROFLMAO:

As boring and tiresome as retirement is, I still have better ways to spend my time than imagining Shaq/Midea commercials.

I am not in market for a new GPU so I don't know what prices are like here. I don't look at prices unless I actually want a card.
I was going by the Tom's article which would be US prices

Maybe it was someone else, but I'm also certain it was him. I'm like 90% certain, and I just saw it earlier this year. Maybe all information about it was scrubbed off the net, Shaq is rich enough to do that after all. Or perhaps I'm just going crazy who knows :ROFLMAO:

Well, you need to tell Tom to get his crap together :ROFLMAO:

I guess you could argue that the 5070 is not at MSRP since it's $23 over, but I think that's close enough. I don't think anyone is scrapping their build over $23.

My house is so warm that my GPU and CPU are idling at around 45c lol. Before our AC bit the dust I saw both go down as low as 30-33c idle. Next week is going to get in the high 80s again, not sure if I'm gonna cave in a buy a new AC or maybe just another powerful fan. All other rooms are nice and cool, it just had to be the living room where my PC is. At least it wasn't the bedroom AC, it's impossible for me to sleep if it isn't freezing cold in the room. No wonder why my wife always bundles up like a mummy under the covers.

True story, my wife and I were in the yard once. It actually wasn't all that hot, I guess. I was in the low 80s, but it might as well have been 100 to me, so I walked into the shadow of our magnolia tree. My wife followed me, and after a moment, she crossed her arms like she was trying to conserve body heat and said, "Brrr...it's cold in the shade."

I think women are just more sensitive to temperatures, but as for me, my body has a hard time regulating its temp, much like my PC currently. I sweat extremely easily and get hot instantly. If it's above 85 and even the slightest bit humid outside, I'll start glistening the moment I step outside. Thank goodness I work a whitecollar job.

That's weird because my body doesn't regulate temps well either. In the winter, I get nauseous whenever the heat starts running.

Sounds like summer to me.
Actually, those sound like good temps for my old PC
Is that CPU temp for the cores or the package?
Cores are generally lower than package, by about 10c

even without AC my CPU & GPU are below both of those now, at idle.
Wncs4MI.jpeg

I don't expect it to be the same in summer. Especially since I don't have AC

Is that CPU temp for the cores or the package?
I look at the package temps. Is that like an average of all core temps/an overall temp range?

Nice of HP to give Corsair some competition

HP need to learn from Lian Li, fans behind glass only works if you drill holes in glass first.
105c on the CPU is absolutely insane. Definitely need to go back to the drawing board with that patented cooling design.

Package is the external temperature of the CPU, its measured from a sensor on motherboard.
Core temps are taken from a multitude of sensors on CPU.

45c was the package temp my last PC used to get, I have a screenshot from last Feb showing
Cores - 35
Package - 45
Nvme - 52
GPU - 41

February being summer here means that is what I am likely to get again... maybe. Case has changed, and above I ran GPU fan all the time to help cool nvme and GPU.

Currently
Cores - 26
Package - 38
Nvme - 37
GPU - 31

GPU fan isn't running in current PC. I don't know if it ever has... I see them run at start and then stop.

Putting intake fans behind glass and only giving a tiny slice for them to breath through also doesn't help. As Steve said, just mounting radiator on front of case behind the 3 fans and without glass would have made more sense... but that doesn't look cool. When target audience is people who don't know any better, the appearance is what counts the most.
Cryo Chamber that adds 10c to temps... brilliant.

put 5090 in a system where to run CPU at its stock speed you have to void warranty... that smells criminal to me.
