Hi all

My 10 year old PC is starting to show its age as 1 of the motherboard bios chips has failed and pc is not windows 11 compatible so now time for an upgrade

PC is a dual monitor setup used mainly for spreadsheets editing creating office documents and so on with some video editing and gaming

Below are my components thoughts
Would appreciate 2nd opinion if components will be ok
Preferably sticking with Gigabyte motherboard, Intel CPU and NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPU cards

——

Gigabyte Z790 GAMING X AX Motherboard
(Was looking for Z790 chip as looks good / also Z790 GAMING X motherboard as don’t need inbuilt Wi-Fi but can’t find it in stock cheaper than the X AX)

Intel® Core™ i5-14600K Desktop Processor 14 cores (6 P-cores + 8 E-cores) up to 5.3 GHz

Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE CPU Air Cooler
(Don’t want water cooling)

CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) 6400MHz
(32gb should be ok)

Gigabyte NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 WINDFORCE OC Graphics Card - 8GB

Crucial P310 2TB SSD M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe Gen4
(Primary boot drive 2TB as not much of a price difference from 1TB)

CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) 6400MHz

I have 2 identical sata 3.5 4TB HD and was going to setup as raid 1 to be used as internal backup location
But considering on getting 2 more m.2 SSD drives and setting up raid 1 on them
Sata HD have more space but going to be slower to transfer documents
SSDs faster but less space and additional cost
I’m thinking use the 3.5 HD for now then upgrade later when M.2 space increases and or price drops?

Thanks for the help

David

The 4080 is More money than I really want to be spending on a graphic card for what I use it for at the moment

The 4060 with only 8gb memory could be better
At around £50 more than the 4060 Would the gigabyte Radeon rx 7600 xt gaming oc 16gb be a better choice?
