Kingmaker was published via a publisher, but Owlcat self-published WotR, so I can see it having a different pricing.

Larain's Divinity 2 was published by one company, then another company published Divinity 2 + an expansion as the Dragon Knight Saga. For several months (years?), buying Divinity 2 by itself cost more than buying the base game plus the expansion!

I think Mort's opinion summed up to be: play WotR before Kingmaker. If you really like it, try Kingmaker, but go in knowing that it's not quite as good.

Personally, I thought they were about the same. WotR has better systems, but Kingmaker has Nok Nok, which was a great character.

I was looking at the standalone price. R320 seems to be about €15.63, so it would be slightly cheaper.

I'm not sure why WOTR is cheaper in ZAR than Kingmaker, I have no idea how regional pricing works.
Was a rhetorical question. Did not expect an answer on it, but at least you did try. It is just something I have struggled to understand for a long time now. Seems to be the norm in my country. You will walk into a shop and look at the ps5 games (Example). One side you will have the older version on special and other side you will have the newly released version. Older version even while on special will cost more than the new release. I am certain somewhere in my country is a warehouse with huge amounts of older version games that never sold because of prices.

Had a good laugh at the 15,63 euro's and actually something places like steam and Microsoft, AMD, Intel, etc. is either not seeing or putting a blind eye to it. 15 Euro's sounds cheap (In my head because I am comparing it to 15 rand in our currency). The average monthly wage here is around 4500. For 1000 you can feed a family of 3 for 7 days (Yes couples need to both work to survive). Which is roughly 45 euros. Some hardware and even software are simply un-affordable over here. Looked at a GPU (Think was the 3080ti. Special price 27599 rand. If someone wants it, they will need to save 62 months (All their income). By that time there is something new and original sale is lost. Scary but many countries are unable to keep up with the trends due to the prices and exchange rates. Several years back it went so bad that steam cancelled their server in South Africa because it was not viable for them to keep it with the number of users they had. This in turn increased latencies for international competitions (20+ ms to closest Europe server) and so they lost pretty much the few clients that stayed as well. Personally, would have dropped prices and got more players to keep the server and "name" active.

But that is just for side information. Figured it is worth saying. Maybe someone up high in sales and marketing sees it and realise a flaw in their structuring. LMAO
