overclocking a laptop 4090 with afterburner

Hi everyone; newbie here. I have an MSI raider GE78HX 13VI. I'm trying to overclock my gpu with Afterburner. I set the core clock to 2500 and the memory clock to 2500. When I run a benchmark say Time spy the memory clock is stable but the core clock drops to 2150-2275. What am I doing wrong? I see other results on Futuremark with the same specs I have and mostly MSI Raiders, their scores are way over what I get and their core and memory clocks are even a little higher than mine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

OCs can vary from system to system. You have two factors to manage, heat and power. Tweaking one (as a factor of increased speed) can lead to an imbalance.

Through trial and error, you can optimize what works best for your system.

That being said, what do you expect by OCing that beast? A couple FPS for a possibly unstable system?

My recommendation. Leave well enough alone and game on!
