Hi fellow gamers,

I'm hardly a "YouTuber" - I just had a little idea to make playthroughs of the five games that are the most significant, the most special, and indeed the most important to me. This is why I come to all of you for your guidance.

One of my five games is "007 Nightfire". We ALL remember it, I'm sure! Released in November 2002, it was nominated for two awards, including the prestigious "British Academy of Film and Television Arts". Amongst gamers, it's the most revered James Bond game that I know of, second to "Goldeneye: 007" (what a game!!!!).

So, when I was inspired to include "Nightfire" in my 5 games, it was actually the PC version that captured me. I hope it doesn't sound unintelligent to ask! I'm really what you might call a "casual gamer", never really going past GTA and CoD, with a few exceptions.

So I'm wondering: I imagine it is possible to do, but for purposes of my channel, how exactly could a game released on the PS2 in 2002 be played on my gaming rig, here in early 2025? I'm sure there is a way to do it, but I'm TRULY hoping that there is. It's something I'm REALLY excited about.

Any, and all, guidance and insight you can offer me, I would be so deeply grateful for, you don't know!!

You can either get the game on pc, I know there is a 007 game from around then though I'm not sure if it's the one you want.

But your best options to record console games is to get a dedicated capture card. You can install it into a pci slot in a desktop computer and the use obs ir something else to record and edit. Some capture cards also come with software.

I personally use pinnacle studios for editing as it's a quality program for a low price. Sometimes humble bundle has capture and edit software as well. That's how I got mine. A paint program for effects, the editor and cap software was 25 dollars. But you can find just the editor for well under 100.

There are also USB capture cards that also have software and performance and price vary.

You should do a little research on capture cards ti see your options. There is a ton of reviews and comparisons for your options and youtube has info too.

If you have a comp you can get it setup for under a 100, You want 32 gb of ram though for easy editing/recording, though 16 still works. But it's slower and you can run into issues with large files.

Currently, there is no legal way to get the game on PC. Places like myabandonware are considered gray sites and could be considered software piracy as I recently discovered in another thread. However, the publisher of the game, EA, allowed modders to port the multiplayer version of the game to Steam as a mod for Half-Life. Unfortunately, due to lack of interest, that project was halted about 9 years ago.

Currently, the game is being voted on at Gog.com as a potential retro game for them to add to their store, but there is no guarantee that EA would be interested in having it added even if it gets enough votes. For instance, the community has been trying to get EA to add several Need for Speed games to GoG for years, and there has been no response from EA. They just seem completely uninterested in their older games.
